Requirements
  • Understanding of mapping data from systems outside an electronic medical record (EMR) or Epic, including third-party vendors and large file uploads into IT-supported systems.
  • Previous project management or lead experience.
  • Skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Willingness and ability to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience integrating applications across the Epic electronic health record ecosystem.
  • Ability to determine how technology can be applied to meet business needs.
  • Broad knowledge of business processes, including disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience and training.
  • Ability to translate creative and abstract concepts into a solid application framework.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System, School of Medicine, UCI Research Administration, and other University of California campuses.
  • Ability to discover and define technical requirements and their relationship to functional requirements, and determine whether documented requirements are adequate for architecture definition.
  • Ability to design and manage high-level projects and develop end-to-end processes.
  • Seven or more years of experience architecting, developing, deploying, and supporting complex computing applications in a medium- to large-scale environment, or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality solution designs addressing business, information, application, and infrastructure architecture concerns.
  • Design architectures aligned with business blueprints, delivery constraints, enterprise business services, enterprise framework services, and infrastructure standards.
  • Deliver design solutions that promote flexibility, scalability, and high performance.
  • Exercise discretion in managing sensitive information and safeguard confidential employee, student, health, patient, financial, strategic, proprietary, and other non-public information.
  • Follow organizational policies and laws on data protection and privacy, including secure handling of physical and digital records and proper use of IT systems to prevent data leaks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Master's degree in a technical or business discipline.
  • Knowledge of university and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Experience working in an academic hospital IT department.
