Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of a Registered Nurse.
  • Ability to meet the stated physical and sensory requirements, including patient transport and lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, bending, reaching, hearing, and vision requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Provide essential medical care to urgent care and occupational health patients.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care interventions and outcomes according to the care plan.
  • Assist physicians with procedures performed in the urgent care area as indicated.
  • Work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards.
  • Participate in unit-based performance improvement and identify unit needs while supporting unit goals and objectives.
  • Maintain professional development through in-service and continuing education programs.
  • Develop, evaluate, and adjust staffing based on patient-care needs and initiate adjustments as needed.
  • Assign responsibility for patient care with the unit-based team.
  • Facilitate staff education activities, including orientation, competency assessments, skill reviews, and mandatory in-service training.
  • Provide input to annual performance reviews of assigned staff.
  • Conduct customer-service activities and handle complaints from patients, families, staff, and physicians.
  • Assist with unit management functions and manage daily operations within budget parameters.
  • Perform in-depth, systematic assessments of assigned patients.
  • Formulate collaborative plans of care and identify expected patient outcomes.
  • Organize, coordinate, and prioritize patient care using available resources.
  • Serve as a professional role model and resource person who provides guidance to coworkers and students.
