Requirements
  • A minimum of three years of combined landscape production and sales experience, or similar experience in a related field.
  • An associate's degree or more, preferably in the Green Industry.
  • A valid driver's license and eligibility to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn, customer relationship management software.
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn, company estimating software.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability to make effective presentations to potential clients.
  • Ability to manage a book of work exceeding $1,500,000 predominantly focused on commercial properties.
  • Ability to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and build and maintain professional relationships with potential clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to network and make connections with people.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, customer-service-oriented, and able to solve problems.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the existing book of accounts and acquire new accounts for the company.
  • Renew current work, upsell current clients as needed, acquire new clients, and sell new work upwards of $1,500,000 annually.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Make initial contact with clients and take all required measurements.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts for clients.
  • Make presentations and present proposals and documents to clients.
  • Close sales and coordinate job specifics with appropriate personnel.
  • Interface with clients and ensure that their concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Interface with the company's Garden and Property Manager during the first few months of a contract to ensure client expectations are met and jobs remain on schedule and on budget.
  • Ensure that job cost reports are properly analyzed and disseminated.
  • Maintain and update customer relationship management software daily with deadlines, meetings, notes, points of contact, and phone conversations.
  • Understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist with implementation of the company's new business development plan.
  • Assist Field Supervisors with site visits, walkthroughs, upselling, and estimating.
  • Oversee client interaction and keep clients informed about the maintenance process, including green-season and winter-season services.
  • Interface with company production and accounting personnel, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the contract.
