WEX(R) + Octane: A more connected way to manage your fuel card program. Date: 7 Aug 2026 For most fuel distributors, fuel card programs and ERP systems have operated in parallel rather than together. Cards are issued and managed in one platform while customer accounts, pricing, and financials sit in another. Transaction data is handled manually, leaving teams to spend hours reconciling it. WEX and Octane Systems have partnered together to give operators a more connected, streamlined way to manage this. Its new integration connects WEX's fuel card program directly to Octane's ERP, allowing for card ordering and maintenance, transaction processing, and financial reporting into a single environment Why this matters for fuel operators Fuel card programs play a direct role in how fuel operators manage customer accounts, contract pricing, rebates, margins, reconciliation, and financial reporting. But in many businesses, fuel card activity still sits outside the core operational workflow. When that happens, the impact shows up quickly: * Transaction data needs to be checked, cleaned, or reworked before it aligns with customer accounts * Pricing and rebates aren't always applied consistently * Reporting lags behind what's actually happening * Reconciliation becomes more manual than it needs to be Individually, these aren't major issues, but together, they slow down how the business runs. How the integration works The integration brings WEX fuel card activity into Octane across three core areas: * Fuel card ordering and setup. New WEX cards can be created and issued directly within Octane, removing the need to move between systems during customer onboarding. * Ongoing card management. Card status, limits, and controls are maintained within the ERP, keeping operational responsibility in one place. * Transaction processing. WEX transaction data flows automatically into Octane, where it is matched to customer accounts and progressed through billing, settlement, and financial reporting. From point of sale through to billing and reporting, transactions move through a single system rather than being handled separately. Benefits across business functions WEX is a global financial technology and payments provider that specialises in fleet, fuel cards, and B2B payment solutions By integrating WEX fuel card data into Octane, transaction processing is no longer handled separately. By unifying fuel card data with broader ERP processes, distributors gain consistency in how transactions are priced, billed, and reported. Pricing structures, rebates, and customer agreements are applied uniformly across the business. Accounts receivable and payable remain aligned with transaction activity. Financial reporting reflects fuel card sales and costs in real time, rather than after a reconciliation cycle. Customer credit can also be managed more effectively, with a single view of credit across both fuel card and bulk fuel purchases. This enables operators to restrict card activity when customers exceed overall approved credit limits or are placed on hold, helping reduce risk and maintain stronger credit control. For operations and finance teams, the integration helps reduce the administrative effort associated with managing fuel card programs and improve the accuracy of customer-level reporting. Where this fits across different operators This integration supports different use cases, depending on your starting point. * For Octane clients: Existing Octane clients looking to introduce or expand a WEX fuel card program. * For WEX clients: Transactions can be brought into Octane to align with operational workflows and financial reporting. * For other customers: Operators reviewing their existing systems who want a market-leading ERP solution integrated with a leading fuel card program from day one. A more connected way to manage fuel card programs As fuel businesses grow, the number of systems involved often increases, along with the effort required to keep them aligned. With this latest WEX-Octane integration, your fuel card program is managed within a single workflow giving operators greater control, improved credit management, clearer visibility, and less administrative effort as your business grows. WEX has launched SecureFuel, an AI-powered fraud prevention tool for its North American fleet customers. The system combines fleet card transaction data, real-time vehicle information, and AI models to identify and block unauthorised fuel purchases before approval. According to the National Association of Fleet Managers, fraud can cost businesses up to 12% of total fuel spend. SecureFuel leverages WEX's network covering approximately 95% of US fuel stations and processes around 30 million fleet transactions monthly. The tool helps fleet managers stop unauthorised purchases, reduce false card declines, and minimise manual investigations by confirming purchases using current vehicle location. Customers can activate SecureFuel through the WEXOnline platform using WEX telematics or supported third-party providers including Geotab. SecureFuel begins rolling out to eligible customers on 3 August.
