Requirements
  • A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
  • A current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to read technical procedures and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and ensure nursing personnel comply with facility policies, procedures, job descriptions, and applicable regulations.
  • Plan shift services, programs, activities, staffing, and work assignments with nursing and support personnel.
  • Maintain nursing service procedures, documentation, reports, census records, medical forms, charts, and resident records.
  • Coordinate nursing services with resident services and participate in quality assurance programs and facility surveys.
  • Review and update resident discharge plans and assist with discharge planning.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and complete associated documentation.
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments, verify resident identity, maintain narcotic records, and report medication discrepancies.
  • Review medication cards and physician orders, transcribe orders, receive telephone orders, and manage medication stop orders and disposal.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, identify staffing needs, provide shift leadership, conduct rounds, and report personnel issues to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Provide nursing care including catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, specimen collection, vital-sign measurement, range-of-motion exercises, and monitoring seriously ill residents.
  • Review resident charts, care plans, treatments, medication orders, diets, and nursing notes; ensure care is delivered according to resident care plans and wishes.
  • Notify physicians and next of kin of accidents, incidents, or changes in residents' conditions.
  • Arrange diagnostic, therapeutic, social, activity, and transportation services as needed.
  • Participate in resident and family orientation, meetings, admissions, discharges, post-mortem procedures, and related communication.
  • Develop and conduct in-service training, orientation, continuing education, infection-control, safety, and emergency-preparedness activities.
  • Ensure safe and sanitary conditions, appropriate hand hygiene, infection-control procedures, personal protective equipment use, and safe operation of nursing equipment.
  • Maintain adequate medication, medical supply, equipment, and personal protective equipment stock levels and report supply needs.
  • Review resident care plans and assist with Minimum Data Set assessment planning, scheduling, revision, and implementation of Resident Assessment Protocols and triggers.
  • Report suspected fraud, unauthorized information access, privacy violations, occupational exposures, hazardous conditions, and other incidents according to facility procedures.

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
