About the job

Requirements
  • Substantial investment experience within UK wealth management, private client, or discretionary fund management, spanning investment oversight, governance, and due diligence.
  • A demonstrable track record of designing and maintaining a centralised investment proposition, investment panel, or similar multi-solution framework.
  • Strong technical knowledge of asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk mapping, and discretionary fund manager due diligence, sufficient to set mandates for and credibly challenge professional portfolio managers.
  • Working knowledge of the Financial Conduct Authority regulatory environment, including Consumer Duty, Conduct of Business Sourcebook suitability, Product Intervention and Product Governance distributor obligations, and investment governance.
  • Ability to present investment thinking to advisers, clients, committees, and the Board.
  • A relevant professional qualification, such as CFA charter holder or Chartered Wealth Manager.
Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain Progeny Wealth's investment philosophy, asset allocation framework, and risk mapping, and own the strategy and design of the centralised investment proposition.
  • Set the mandates for each solution on the centralised investment proposition across all Progeny Wealth propositions, and oversee solution selection against them using the portfolio assessment tool.
  • Undertake due diligence on panel discretionary fund managers, products, and providers before approval for the centralised investment proposition, and maintain ongoing monitoring of the panel.
  • Provide arm's-length oversight and challenge of Progeny Asset Management as a solution on the centralised investment proposition, ensuring its mandates and performance remain appropriate for inclusion and maintaining governance distance from Progeny's manufactured fund range.
  • Maintain an investment framework for legacy advisory portfolios outside the centralised investment proposition, and ensure every solution in centralised and non-centralised business demonstrably delivers fair value and good client outcomes under Consumer Duty.
  • Track clients in centralised and non-centralised solutions, own investment performance and outcomes reporting, and communicate positioning and market outlook to advisers, clients, and the Board.
  • Own investment papers, data, and recommendations to the Investment Oversight and Advice Policy Committee on centralised investment proposition strategy, panel composition, and challenge outcomes.
  • Provide investment leadership to platform and International Securities Identification Number rationalisation, ensuring consolidation of the instrument estate is delivered without detriment to client portfolios or outcomes, and act as the senior technical escalation point for complex investment queries.
  • Lead and develop the investment governance team, including the Investment Governance Manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience overseeing or challenging an in-house discretionary fund manager or manufactured fund range at arm's length, including within an Authorised Corporate Director or Authorised Fund Manager structure.
  • Experience building or operating a portfolio assessment tool or similar framework for evaluating investment solutions.
  • Prior involvement in investment, platform, or International Securities Identification Number migration and rationalisation programmes.

Titan Wealth acquires Progeny International for $1.1B assets under advice

Titan Wealth has acquired Progeny International, the international division of Progeny Group, adding approximately £900 million in assets under advice and 13 financial advisers to its international business. Progeny International, formerly part of the Fry Group, operates in Belgium, Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai International Financial Centre. The business provides tax-led financial advice to internationally mobile individuals, entrepreneurs and multi-generational families, specialising in cross-border financial planning and wealth structuring. The deal, subject to regulatory approval, forms part of Titan Wealth's long-term international expansion strategy. Andrew Fearon, joint group CEO at Titan Wealth, said the acquisition enhances the firm's global reach across leading wealth hubs. Progeny Group CEO Tom Wood said the sale allows the firm to focus resources on its core UK market.
