About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
- Ability to use and read micrometers and calipers.
- Competence in basic computer skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and bend, squat, stoop, twist, and kneel.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Inspect products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications, and cross-train across company departments based on business needs.
- Read blueprints and specifications.
- Dimensionally inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced.
- Measure products using rulers, calipers, gauges, micrometers, tape measures, or Pi tape.
- Accept or reject finished or raw-material items and remove products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
- Discuss inspection results with the department supervisor, area leader, and department engineer.
- Report inspection and test data as needed and enter it into the non-conformance log database.
- Follow work instructions for final inspection criteria and non-conforming products.
- Print material certifications for customer orders as required.
- Prepare necessary shipment paperwork and package customer orders for shipment as required.
- Perform additional training duties as requested.
- Perform PMI inspections and print PMI reports.
- Inspect components received from suppliers using measuring instruments, prints, specifications, and quality documents.
- Use the RFA process to offer ideas and solutions with involvement from the Plant Management Team.
- React productively to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
