📐 About this role
Writer is seeking a strategic and analytical Director of financial planning and analysis to lead our financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis processes. This role is critical for supporting the company’s financial health and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to financial management.
🦸🏻♀️ Your responsibilities
Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support the company’s strategic goals
Provide analytical insights into business performance and recommend measures for performance improvement
Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and guide senior management in decision-making
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures
Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances
Manage the financial planning and analysis team; recruit, train, and develop team members
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support
Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
Engage with senior leaders to provide decision support through financial modeling and analysis
⭐️ Is this you?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proven track record of leading a financial planning and analysis function
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling techniques and Excel
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Outstanding communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
CPA or CFA certification
Familiarity with financial planning software and ERP systems
