Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or comparable training program, unless two years of Medical Assistant experience substitute for the training program.
  • For Medical Assistant I, 6 to 12 months of current experience providing or assisting with direct patient care.
  • For Medical Assistant II, 1 to 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Ability to learn and apply basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to actively listen and communicate narrative accounts of events accurately.
  • For Medical Assistant II, previous medical office experience and prior knowledge of electronic health records and data entry are required.
  • BLS certification within six months of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic clinical duties to ready patients for provider visits in an ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Work collaboratively with the practice team to support efficient and effective practice operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients’ records, medical treatment, and diagnosis.
  • Follow the practice’s policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous medical office experience for Medical Assistant I.
  • Prior knowledge of electronic health records and data entry for Medical Assistant I.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to actively listen.
