Assistant Director of Rehab
About the job
- A bachelor's degree in a rehabilitation discipline, specifically Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology, is required.
- A master's degree is preferred.
- Candidates must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice.
- A minimum of three years of direct patient care experience is required or preferred as stated, with one year of management experience in a rehabilitation setting preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing is required.
- Candidates must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates must be able to make independent decisions and solve problems appropriately.
- Candidates must be able to interact positively with personnel, patients, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel, and the general public.
- Candidates must be able to effectively manage and motivate staff.
- Assist the Director of Rehab in the successful operation of assigned locations, ensuring efficient delivery of rehabilitation services and the best possible patient outcomes.
- Assist with managing a team of therapists and assistants, including company rehabilitation staff and contract labor.
- Provide direct patient care for up to 50% of the day or more depending on the location.
- Assist the Director of Rehab with monitoring clinical service standards to ensure adherence to evidence-based care delivery standards and regulatory compliance.
- Assist therapy staff in identifying and removing barriers to treatment and provide clinical education to meet patient needs.
- Cover the Director of Rehab's duties in their absence.
- One year of management experience in a rehabilitation setting.
- A master's degree.
