Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience setting up and running manual mills and lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience machining titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and other standard aerospace materials.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, blueprint reading, and inspection tools.
  • Ability to communicate technical instructions with the engineering department.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Minimum high school education or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to meet all International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives background requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual or computer numerical control mills and lathes according to work orders, routers, and blueprints.
  • Evaluate blueprints and develop machining strategies.
  • Identify tooling to machine hardware.
  • Create work holders or fixtures used to machine hardware.
  • Verify parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Change tools and offsets based on cutting conditions when running computer numerical control equipment.
  • Use appropriate methodologies and cutting tools to produce quality parts that meet production and quality standards.
  • Use appropriate feeds, speeds, and other cutting parameters based on workpiece materials.
  • Re-machine parts based on engineering or production-required changes.
  • Troubleshoot production-related issues on the shop floor.
  • Machine prototype hardware with limited supervision.
  • Deburr parts when necessary.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Computer numerical control experience.
  • Experience with ESPRIT or Mastercam programming software.
  • Previous lead experience.
