About the job
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- At least two years of Class A commercial driving experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least 23 years old.
- Applicants must pass a Department of Transportation-required pre-employment physical and drug screening in accordance with 49 CFR Parts 391 and 40.
- Applicants must have no DUI or DWI convictions within the past three years.
- Applicants must have no more than one at-fault accident within the past three years.
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations, vehicle inspections, and safe cargo securement practices is required.
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and basic preventive maintenance is required.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
- The driver must be able to work independently and follow safety standards.
- Safely transport materials.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete light preventive maintenance as needed.
- Secure loads, including tarping when required by customer specifications or load requirements.
- Comply with Department of Transportation regulations, commercial motor vehicle laws, and company safety policies.
- Maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading positions and complete drop-and-hook deliveries.
- Promptly report vehicle defects, accidents, or safety concerns.
- Operate commercial tractor-trailers and interact with customers, dispatch, and warehouse personnel.
- Maintain reliable attendance and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience with drop-and-hook deliveries is preferred.
