About the job

Requirements
  • Demonstrated product management and/or product marketing experience in diagnostics, life sciences, or medical devices, with a track record of bringing products from concept through commercialization.
  • Hands-on experience developing in vitro diagnostic tests and Laboratory Developed Tests, including familiarity with the requirements they impose on product and commercial activities.
  • Ability to translate Voice of Customer and clinical insight into prioritized, actionable product requirements.
  • Track record building business cases, financial models, and competitive analyses to inform executive decision-making.
  • Experience defining and executing go-to-market strategy, including product positioning, messaging, and value proposition development.
  • Demonstrated success leading product launches and managing post-launch adoption and performance.
  • Ability to influence across research and development, regulatory, clinical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate with significant autonomy in an early-stage environment where requirements evolve.
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, business, or a closely related discipline.
  • Eight or more years of relevant product management and/or product marketing experience in diagnostics or life sciences.
Responsibilities
  • Own product strategy and roadmap for the target detection platform, translating Voice of Customer from clinicians, laboratory directors, and key opinion leaders into prioritized product requirements.
  • Partner with engineering, assay development, integration, software, regulatory, and operations teams to balance clinical value, technical feasibility, and time-to-market across research-use-only, Laboratory Developed Test, and in vitro diagnostic development phases.
  • Develop product positioning, messaging, and value propositions for clinical, laboratory, and economic buyers, including health-economic and clinical-utility narratives that differentiate against blood culture-based and competing molecular methods.
  • Build business cases and financial models, including market sizing, segmentation, and return on investment, to support investment, prioritization, and executive go/no-go decisions.
  • Conduct competitive analyses and market landscaping across sepsis, pathogen identification, and antimicrobial resistance detection to identify differentiation, threats, and market opportunities.
  • Drive go-to-market strategy with commercial, sales, and marketing leadership, including pricing, channel, and launch-readiness planning.
  • Lead product launches end-to-end, including sales enablement, collateral, training, and key opinion leader engagement; own post-launch adoption tracking, customer feedback loops, and performance against commercial targets.
  • Collaborate with regulatory and quality teams to ensure product requirements and commercial materials are accurate, compliant, and appropriate for a regulated diagnostics environment.
  • Serve as the internal subject-matter expert and voice of the customer for the platform, its clinical workflows, and the problems it solves.
  • Define and track product and commercial success metrics, using data to inform roadmap prioritization and trade-offs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct experience in molecular diagnostics, ideally in sepsis and/or pathogen identification.
  • Familiarity with the clinical microbiology and infectious disease testing landscape, workflows, and buyer dynamics.
  • Experience developing clinical-utility content, health-economic and return-on-investment models, and key opinion leader and clinical-evidence strategy.
  • Experience at an early-stage or scaling diagnostics company, balancing near-term commercial delivery against long-term platform strategy.
  • An MBA or advanced degree.
