Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least three years of experience in shipyard or industrial production planning or scheduling is required.
  • Familiarity with shipboard outfitting sequence, including piping, machinery, electrical, HVAC/ducting, equipment installation, and system completion, is preferred.
  • Experience reading shipbuilding drawings, work packages, material lists, production schedules, and related technical information is preferred.
  • Ability to operate computer systems and standard office and scheduling software is required.
  • Ability to use shipyard production management, planning, material tracking, and document management systems is required.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when working on the production floor and aboard vessels.
  • Ability to identify production constraints and facilitate timely resolution with multiple stakeholders is required.
  • Ability to communicate priorities and information effectively to production supervisors, planners, engineering, supply chain, quality, and project personnel is required.
  • Employees must maintain current awareness and understanding of applicable regulations, internal policies, and procedures and comply with them.
Responsibilities
  • Support safe execution of Cold Outfitting work in accordance with company safety goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed shop floor work packages and production schedules for Cold Outfitting and other assigned outfitting work.
  • Organize drawings, work instructions, material requirements, inspection requirements, vendor information, and other production information needed to execute work packages.
  • Sequence daily and weekly production assignments in coordination with the Cold Outfitting Manager, production supervisors, Project Planner, and NB Production Planning.
  • Coordinate Cold Outfitting work sequencing with other production groups to minimize trade congestion, access conflicts, and interference.
  • Track production progress against the shop floor schedule and report schedule variances, incomplete predecessor work, and emerging delays to the Cold Outfitting Manager.
  • Coordinate material, equipment, tooling, access, temporary services, and manpower availability against the shop floor plan before work is released to production.
  • Support material tracking, kitting, staging, preservation, and expediting for production needs in coordination with Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, and Material Control.
  • Verify work-package readiness by confirming current drawings, required material, vendor information, predecessor completion, access, inspection points, and production resources are available before planned start dates.
  • Identify and communicate schedule risks, resource and space conflicts, engineering constraints, material shortages, and other conditions that may prevent planned work from being executed.
  • Maintain a rolling daily and weekly look-ahead plan and coordinate constraint removal with production and support organizations.
  • Maintain accurate shop floor planning records, work-package status, production progress, completion quantities, and production status reports.
  • Coordinate with Production Engineering on construction drawings, work instructions, engineering queries, revisions, and technical information required for production.
  • Coordinate with the Project Planner and other Shop Floor Planners on shared resources, interfaces, predecessor and successor activities, system priorities, and project-wide sequencing.
  • Support the Cold Outfitting Manager in planning block, compartment, zone, and system completion activities and establishing priorities for testing and commissioning.
  • Coordinate inspection and test points with Quality personnel and production supervision so inspection requirements are included in the planned work sequence.
  • Support testing, commissioning, punch-list closeout, and final system turnover planning by tracking incomplete Cold Outfitting work and required completion dates.
  • Participate in shop floor status, coordination, planning, and safety meetings and communicate production priorities and constraints to affected stakeholders.
  • Capture planning and production lessons learned and support continuous improvement of work-package development, sequencing, material flow, and shop floor planning practices.
  • Ensure compliance with the company Mission Statement and Quality Management System.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate's degree or technical certification in planning, industrial technology, marine technology, or a related field is preferred.
