About the Job

Requirements

  • A Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and 7+ years of analog/mixed-signal circuit design experience, or a PhD in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of analog/mixed-signal circuit design experience.
  • Prior design experience in ultra-low-noise PLL designs supporting sub-picosecond high-frequency jitter (1 UI, 2 UI, 3 UI) and random noise.
  • Prior experience in ultra-low-noise, high-linearity, low-power phase interpolator architectures.
  • Prior experience in memory clock tree designs.
  • Knowledge of DDR5 specifications.
  • Solid knowledge of design principles for practical design tradeoffs.
  • Solid knowledge of basic building blocks such as bias circuits, operational amplifiers, and low-dropout regulators.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional, globally dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own critical clocking blocks such as PLL, VCO, and PI.
  • Own high-speed analog/mixed-signal designs at chip and block level.
  • Design, simulate, and characterize high-performance, high-speed circuits.
  • Create high-level models for design tradeoff analysis and behavioral models for verification simulations.
  • Work with digital and system teams to define architecture and design plans that achieve budget, schedule, and project deliverable goals.
  • Create floor plans and work with the layout team to demonstrate post-extraction performance.
  • Document analysis and simulations to show that the design achieves critical electrical and timing parameters and follows the pre-silicon verification flow.
  • Work with the lab and system team on test plans, silicon bring-up, and characterization.
  • Understand and disseminate applicable standards and their relevance to the project team.
  • Mentor junior designers.
  • Participate in and contribute to the definition of development flows that improve the efficiency and quality of design execution.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in DLL architectures is a plus.
  • Prior experience with data buffer architectures is a plus.
  • Prior experience with bandwidth peaking approaches is a plus.
  • Experience working on leading R&D and future technology development projects is desirable.
