Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must hold current NA-C licensure in Washington State.
  • Must hold or be in the process of acquiring a food handler permit.
  • Must hold or be in the process of acquiring a First Aid/CPR card.
  • Must acquire Nurse Delegation Training Certification within 120 days.
  • Must acquire Modified Fundamentals of Nursing Certification within 120 days.
  • Must acquire Dementia Training Certification within 120 days.
  • Must be able to work independently with elderly and/or disabled individuals.
  • Must be able to cook and bake independently and follow recipes.
Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living while considering individual needs.
  • Provide personal hygiene measures appropriately.
  • Promote good skin care by following the Skin Care Program.
  • Use assistive devices to assist residents with ambulation, dressing, and eating.
  • Provide preventative maintenance and rehabilitative measures, including ambulation, range of motion, positioning, and dressing, while allowing opportunities for self-care.
  • Promote residents’ participation in activities.
  • Provide care outlined in the Negotiated Service Plan.
  • Perform basic technical skills within the scope of service.
  • Assist residents in obtaining adequate nutrition, including fluid intake and supplements.
  • Follow procedures to support adequate bladder and bowel elimination and retraining.
  • Adjust care for residents’ physical and/or mental limitations.
  • Accurately monitor body functions, including vital signs, weight, intake and output measurements, and specimen collection.
  • Replenish and order supplies, and promptly report maintenance needs.
  • Support and promote unit, department, and facility policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Complete assigned cleaning tasks according to the established schedule.
  • Provide care for dying residents and provide postmortem care.
  • Complete tasks assigned by the Nurse Manager within the NA-C’s scope of practice.
  • Provide orientation for new staff members.
