About the job

Requirements
  • A Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or PhD is preferred; a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 12+ years of analog/mixed-signal integrated-circuit design experience is considered.
  • A demonstrated track record of silicon-proven designs in deep-submicron FinFET processes is required, including understanding of device physics, mismatch, leakage management, and reliability at advanced nodes.
  • Experience designing precision analog circuits such as voltage references, regulators, analog-to-digital converter front-ends, bias generators, and comparators is required.
  • Proficiency with industry electronic-design-automation tools, including Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and analog/mixed-signal simulation environments, is required.
  • Experience taking designs from specification through layout, tapeout, silicon bring-up, and production release is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present design reviews and technical tradeoffs to cross-functional audiences are required.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading design reviews is required.
  • Familiarity with design-for-test, production test, and design-for-manufacturability practices in advanced complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor technology is required.
  • Applicants may need to undergo an export licensing review process for access to technical data; United States citizens, permanent residents, and protected individuals are exempt from this review.
Responsibilities
  • Own analog architecture and circuit design for complex mixed-signal system-on-chip subsystems, including precision voltage-sense paths, high-speed and low-speed analog-to-digital converter front-ends, voltage references, regulators, bias generation, and input/output interfaces.
  • Perform transistor-level design, simulation, and optimization in deep-submicron FinFET processes while managing leakage, mismatch, reliability, and electromigration tradeoffs.

  • Lead mixed-signal verification, including behavioral modeling, digital co-simulation, and corner and Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Collaborate with layout, design-for-test, and test engineering to ensure robust design-for-manufacturability and production testability; support silicon bring-up, characterization, and debugging.
  • Provide technical mentorship and design-review leadership, and establish reusable intellectual property and best practices.
  • Collaborate with architecture, digital, firmware, applications, and customer-facing teams to translate system requirements into analog specifications and robust, manufacturable solutions.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps, the patent portfolio, and improvements to the company's analog design methodology.

About the company

ADI designs, manufactures, and sells high-performance analog, mixed-signal, and DSP integrated circuits that sense, measure, interpret, connect, and power the physical world in electronic devices. Its products include data converters, amplifiers, and power-management ICs that OEMs embed to handle analog sensing and digital processing inside their products. ADI differentiates itself through a broad, industry-spanning portfolio and close collaboration with customers to solve complex engineering challenges, rather than focusing on a single product type. Its goal is to provide reliable signal-processing solutions that bridge the physical world and digital systems, helping customers create more capable electronic products.

Analog Devices acquires Alif Semiconductor for $1.35B to advance AI-native edge processing

Analog Devices will acquire Alif Semiconductor for $1.35 billion in cash, with a potential additional $200 million in contingent payments. The deal, expected to close before the end of 2026, aims to advance what ADI calls "Physical Intelligence" — systems that sense, reason, and act locally in real time. Alif provides AI-native microcontrollers and fusion processors designed for edge intelligence. The acquisition will combine Alif's digital processing platform with ADI's analog capabilities in sensing, signal processing, power, and connectivity. The merger targets applications across industrial, data center infrastructure, defence, energy, robotics, digital health, and wearables. Alif's silicon is already shipping to production customers. PJT Partners advised ADI, whilst Qatalyst Partners advised Alif. The transaction requires regulatory approval under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.
