Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Treasury, Investments, or Business, or relevant professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Analyst, or Management Accountant.
  • A demonstrated track record of short-term investment performance with banks, accountability versus a benchmark, and awareness of risk/return tradeoffs and liquidity and spending constraints.
  • The ability to establish positive working relationships with integrity and a high degree of ethics.
  • Knowledge and experience in global finance, particularly treasury, cash management, banking, investments, cash management products, term deposits, money market funds, liquidity practices, banking operations, and foreign exchange products.
  • The ability to interact and maintain business relationships with external parties.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, primarily Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • The ability to work in an organized and structured manner, meet deadlines, and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn on the job, work agilely, perform critical self-review, and act in the organization's interests.
Responsibilities
  • Manage existing banking and investment relationships with international and local banks.
  • Manage communications with New York University head office treasury.
  • Comply strictly with the investment policy and source and execute new short-term investment and cash management ideas.
  • Structure communications with banks and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Periodically review cash and investment policies and investment and risk management strategies.
  • Oversee the university's petty cash fund program and corporate card program.
  • Manage interactions with bank relationship managers at local and international banks based in the United Arab Emirates and New York.
  • Monitor daily cash positions across all bank accounts, ensure adequate operational liquidity, and coordinate funding movements between accounts to optimize liquidity and minimize idle cash balances.
  • Manage online banking access for all banks.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate approvals for banking instructions, ensuring timely submission, accurate execution, and proper documentation.
  • Manage bank account administration, including bank signatory updates, know-your-customer compliance, bank account management, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop and manage working relationships with New York University head office treasury, the controller's office, the payments team, and funding agencies through regular meetings and updates.
  • Support the evaluation and execution of short-term investments, including term deposits and money market placements, by providing analysis and recommendations and coordinating implementation with senior management.
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and budget teams to validate cash and investment transactions and related financial reporting.
  • Monitor foreign currency exposures and support foreign exchange guidance in line with university policies.
  • Assist with weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Access, retrieve, and validate financial and non-financial information from reliable sources to depict the university's financial and investment position accurately.
  • Perform cash flow forecasting and variance analysis to ensure liquidity and identify exposures.
  • Oversee the primary campus petty cash fund, including vault operations, monthly cash counts, cash disbursements, and cash collection operations.
  • Administer the university's corporate card program, including card management, monitoring card limits, and liaising with banks on corporate card queries.
  • Implement the investment policy and monitor compliance, escalating potential non-compliance immediately.
  • Assist with managing the university's investments to meet financial and investment objectives.
  • Comply with guidelines and best practices concerning ethics, sensitive information, confidentiality, and cybersecurity.
  • Identify, value, and analyze short-term investment proposals, recommend suitable opportunities for management approval, and perform due diligence on new and existing proposals.
  • Build financial models and dashboards.
  • Monitor global and regional economic developments, interest rate trends including Federal Reserve rates, financial markets, and banking conditions.
  • Support consultant and banking relationship reviews.
  • Refine and enhance analytical tools such as treasury dashboards and treasury management systems for performance reporting, benchmarking, risk reporting, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Further develop and manage short-term investment, withdrawal, and spending policies in alignment with New York University's global practices.
  • Monitor counterparty exposures, banking limits, concentration risks, and liquidity risks in accordance with approved treasury policies.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Business Administration, management, accounting, investments, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree.
  • Certifications in artificial intelligence tools, finance or treasury, cybersecurity, or digital tools and environments.
  • Experience working in a strong performance culture and managing internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Understanding of financial modeling and treasury artificial intelligence tools.
  • Critical and strategic thinking with strong applied quantitative skills related to finance, statistics, and modeling.
  • The ability to apply solid investment judgment.
