Requirements
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Business, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or Data Analytics.
  • A strong interest in Healthcare IT, payer workflows including claims, billing, and utilization management, and modern artificial intelligence tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally when interacting directly with business-to-business healthcare clients.
Responsibilities
  • Use Power BI dashboards to track key performance indicators, product usage, and operational metrics for the payer platform.
  • Audit, organize, and prioritize the engineering backlog in Jira.
  • Translate stakeholder feedback into clear user stories and documentation in Confluence.
  • Assist with mapping requirements, analyzing data inputs, and tracking the performance of artificial-intelligence-driven features.
  • Collaborate with implementation teams to support onboarding for new payer accounts and gather early user feedback to improve the product experience.
  • Work with Marketing and business resources to create collateral, in-application materials, and help guides.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to keep projects moving forward on schedule.
  • Work with the Jira backlog, build data-driven Power BI dashboards, support artificial intelligence initiatives, assist with onboarding new business-to-business accounts, and contribute to feature collateral.
  • Participate in a 12-week, full-time internship from May 24, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
Desired Qualifications
  • One or more years of experience with dashboard and analytical concepts.
  • One or more years of experience with Power BI or similar data tools and the Microsoft 365 suite.
  • One or more years of experience with Agile frameworks, Agile/Scrum methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors graduating from December 2027 through June 2029.

Labcorp stock drops 3.3% as US cuts Medicare lab reimbursement rates by up to 15%

Labcorp Holdings stock fell 3.3% on Tuesday after the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced it will cut reimbursement rates for lab work by up to 15%, effective 1 January 2027. CMS disclosed it has been paying approximately 16% more for lab work than private insurers. The agency estimates the reduced rates will save taxpayers $1 billion annually. Labcorp derives roughly 8% of its revenue from CMS reimbursement, meaning a full 15% rate reduction would decrease annual revenue by 1.2%. Successive 15% yearly reductions are possible through 2029, implying a worst-case scenario of approximately 3.6% revenue reduction. In its latest SEC filing, Labcorp identified Medicare and Medicaid rate reductions as a key investment risk.

Labcorp targets 5-8% annual revenue growth through 2029 at investor day

Labcorp hosted its 2026 Investor Day on 10 September, outlining its growth strategy and long-term financial outlook through 2029. The company expects compound annual revenue growth of 5% to 8% and adjusted earnings per share growth of 8.5% to 11.5% through 2029. Chairman and CEO Adam Schechter said Labcorp is positioned at the intersection of diagnostics, biopharma, science and technology.
