Requirements

  • Requires 2 to 4 years of experience in the medical industry.
  • Requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires basic English reading and writing skills.
  • Requires strong cognitive, analytical, and mathematical ability, plus practical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Requires experience applying Lean Manufacturing tools such as cycle time, bottlenecks, 6S, and line balancing.
  • Requires experience with manufacturing processes such as swaging, winding, and packaging.
  • Requires the ability to use scales to process variances.
  • Requires the ability to operate pallet jacks and handle heavy loads.
  • Requires broad knowledge of the JDEdwards planning and production system.
  • Requires knowledge of production systems including Qlik Sense (Performance Management Tiers 1, 2, and 3), Heijunka, MES, Hour-by-Hour, and Thunderbird Artwork System.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule production orders for manufacturing lines according to weekly requirements using the Heijunka system or an equivalent.
  • Ensure the production line is correctly balanced according to planning requirements and in coordination with the manufacturing supervisor, including assigning production associates to processes or cells as needed.
  • Serve as the central communication point among Vault, Planning, and Manufacturing to prevent material shortages and mitigate production-line stoppages.
  • Manage production-line priorities, including backorders and protocols, as communicated by Planning and Manufacturing.
  • Perform cycle counts for designated floor-stock components at the business unit’s established weekly, biweekly, or monthly frequency and according to the plant’s cycle-count procedure.
  • Assign components, close operations, and complete final transfers for finished-goods production orders through MES and/or JDEdwards as applicable, reconciling orders accurately to prevent financially material variances.
  • Assign and close operations for Leporello and dispenser-box orders, among others, against the finished-goods order.
  • Deliver completed finished-goods orders in bags or boxes to the Transfer Area or Sollas, as applicable.
  • Calculate yield for combined products containing triclosan (PLUS products).
  • Provide materials needed to clean equipment dedicated to combined products containing triclosan (PLUS products).
  • Receive and count variances generated at the end of production orders for components such as needles and sutures, then ensure the counted variances are delivered to Vault.
  • Request, receive, and physically and systematically replenish floor-stock components.
  • Physically replenish floor-stock components on production machines as applicable and maintain appropriate inventory levels to prevent production-line stoppages.

Desired Qualifications

  • A computer technician qualification is preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing certification is preferred.
  • Experience handling combined products containing triclosan is preferred.
