Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • The candidate must be at least 19 years of age.
  • The role requires the ability to analyze patient demographic information and identify areas needing clarification.
  • The role requires experience or ability to interpret insurance information and insurance cards.
  • The role requires the ability to complete patient financial screenings to facilitate patient needs and financial reimbursement.
  • The role requires frequent computer use and normal visual acuity and fine motor coordination.
  • The role requires the ability to sit constantly, stand or walk frequently, and lift or carry specified weights occasionally.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze patient demographic information to determine where clarification may be needed for other users.
  • Audit documents generated through the Hospital Information System or Document Imaging System, including information entered through custom questions, and follow up with hospital staff as necessary.
  • Work with case management to resolve insurance coverage issues.
  • Train and orient new employees and train existing staff on new techniques or procedures as directed by the supervisor.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the Hospital Information System and Document Imaging System to pre-register and register patients and update databases for changes in patient status, transfers, newborn admissions, and discharges.
  • Maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 96% after six months of employment.
  • Manage downtime procedures and re-initiation of the Hospital Information System and Document Imaging System.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of software systems.
  • Participate in staff evaluations.
