  • Successful completion of required drug testing and health screening.
Responsibilities
  • Provide care as an Advanced Practice Provider qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients under the supervision or alternate supervision of attending physicians.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and medical trainees to align patient care with clinical standards.
  • Independently see patients in the inpatient setting.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team and use advanced clinical skills to manage a caseload of patients.
  • Assess, diagnose, initiate delegated medical treatments, perform independent nursing interventions, and evaluate care.
  • Provide holistic and comprehensive patient care informed by theory, science, research, and reflective practice.
  • Attend multidisciplinary conferences for the assigned disease area.
  • Manage assigned patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Document histories, physical examinations, and management changes according to government guidelines.
  • Arrange diagnostic tests, follow up on test results, and address other patient care issues.
  • Perform reporting for government agencies, chart review, prescription refills, and patient phone calls for longitudinal-care patients.
  • Attend weekly conferences and annual continuing education courses related to endocrine patient management.
  • Evaluate goals and outcomes based on patient, family, and organizational benefit-versus-burden, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions to achieve the goals and outcomes of each patient's plan of care.
  • Perform other related work as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree.
  • Clinical experience in a related specialty area.
  • Apply for a mid-level practitioner controlled substance license and Drug Enforcement Administration number once licensed and as needed.
  • Willingness to be privileged and credentialed through the University of Chicago Medical Staff Office before the start date.
  • Willingness to enter into a written collaborative agreement with a collaborating physician upon hire.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and clinical practices.
  • Effective leadership and teaching skills.
  • Ability to act as a resource for colleagues and participate in teaching and mentorship.
