Requirements
  • Five years of industrial automation experience.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related bachelor's discipline; a related degree from a technical college or equivalent industrial controls experience is also accepted.
  • Experience with modern Logix-based control systems from Rockwell Automation.
  • Experience with modern supervisory control and data acquisition systems such as Ignition, AVEVA, Wonderware, VTScada, and FactoryTalk View.
  • Willingness to learn a variety of control systems and supervisory control and data acquisition platforms.
  • Ability to explore new technologies and new ways to perform work.
Responsibilities
  • Work with the training department to develop and execute training for Automation Specialists and other technical employees.
  • Develop training on bills of materials, input/output lists, and control-panel requirements.
  • Develop programmable logic controller programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages.
  • Develop human-machine interfaces.
  • Develop hardware and software test plans and write simulation logic for testing programmable logic controller and human-machine-interface systems.
  • Test new products and technologies.
  • Develop and evolve company standards for design and programming.
  • Work with manufacturers and vendors to make training available to employees.
  • Work with others to address design issues as necessary.
  • Help project delivery teams troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues as necessary.
