Requirements
  • Knowledge of GST rules and regulations; practical knowledge and experience in handling Indian GST notices, disputes and litigation matters; experience in computation of tax liability, tax credit availment and return filing; knowledge of representing matters before tax authorities; robust knowledge of AI usage, MS Office and other data tools such as Alteryx
  • Experience of 2-4 years in indirect taxation; Qualification as Chartered Accountant or equivalent degree (MBA or LL.B)
  • Knowledge of SAP environment will be an added advantage; should be flexible in traveling to different tax offices; candidate working in one of Big Four or large manufacturing multinational corporations will have an added advantage
Responsibilities
  • Manage indirect tax compliance, reporting and litigation support for all the states wherever business operation exists in India with activities such as guiding the business team, filing indirect tax returns, submitting refund claims, performing account reconciliations, ensuring completion of audits or assessments with external parties, carrying out data validation, and ensuring timely tax payments.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate compliance and reporting obligations including indirect tax returns, reconciliation, assessment, trackers, tax accounting, audit and notices; partner with business team for inputs from compliance and reporting obligations to ensure full alignment.
  • Tax planning, opportunities and optimizing efficiency through continuous evaluation and improvement, including monitoring recent changes on tax reporting and compliances including indirect tax policies; ensuring all supporting records are maintained for tax compliance and reporting for future audits.
  • Communicating with external and internal stakeholders on various indirect tax matters to bring the desired results and be compliant.
  • Achieving deadlines set by leadership and the business and proactively monitoring and raising instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashion.
  • Support various regional projects and able to identify key risks and opportunities in the process
