Rowan plans second building at Temple, Texas data centre campus. Jul 29, 2026 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji US data centre firm Rowan has filed plans to expand its Temple, Texas campus. The company is proposing AUS02 Building 2 at 1855 Bob White Road in Bell County. The $780 million project will deliver a 500,000 sq ft (46,451 sqm) single-storey facility. Construction is scheduled from August 2026 to August 2027. Founded in 2021 by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and Birch Infrastructure, Rowan Digital Infrastructure is developing data centres across the US, including sites in Texas, Maryland, and Oregon. The company broke ground on the Bob White Road campus in January. The 700-acre site is expected to reach 300MW at full build-out, with the first building due online next year. The project will be Rowan's second facility in Temple. The company completed the Moriah Data Center in 2023, but after the tenant left in 2024, Rowan plans to repurpose the site as a warehouse. Rowan files for second building at data center campus in Temple, Texas. 500,000 sq ft building due live next year July 29, 2026 US data center firm Rowan has filed to expand one of its sites in Temple, Texas. Per a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Rowan aims to develop AUS02 Building 2 at 1855 Bob White Road in Bell County. The $780 million project will see the construction of a single-story building totaling 500,000 sq ft (46,451 sqm). Construction is set to run from August 2026 to August 2027. Set up in 2021 by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and Birch Infrastructure, Rowan Digital Infrastructure (formerly known as Rowan Green Data) is developing data centers in Maryland and Oregon, and has sites in Texas near Temple and San Antonio. Rowan broke ground on the Bob White Road campus in January, with the first building due live next year. The 700-acre campus could reach 300MW at full build-out. This will be Rowan's second facility in Temple. First announced in 2021, the company completed its Moriah Data Center, located in the city's Synergy Park at 2810 Bob White Road, in 2023. However, the tenant vacated the property in 2024, and Rowan is set to repurpose the site as a warehouse. Blackstone acquired a significant minority stake in the firm earlier this year. $3B Rowan Project Temple data center campus needs 10 low voltage systems.

$3B Rowan Project Temple data center campus needs 10 low voltage systems. July 19, 2026 Rowan closed nearly $3B in green financing for Project Temple, a 300 MW turnkey hyperscale campus in Temple, TX - a 1M sq ft first building under construction, requiring 10 low voltage systems with an estimated $120M in LV work. LV packages not yet awarded. Rowan Digital Infrastructure closed nearly $3 billion in green construction financing - the largest deal in company history - for Project Temple, a 300 MW turnkey hyperscale data center campus in Temple, Texas. Construction is underway on a 707-acre site with a 1 million square foot first building, and all ten core low voltage systems are in play, with an estimated LV opportunity of roughly $120 million. Project overview. Project Temple sits northeast of Bob White Road and Lorraine Avenue in Temple, Bell County - the I-35 corridor between Austin and Waco that has quietly become one of Central Texas's most active industrial development markets. Rowan broke ground on March 2, 2026, and closed the financing on May 27, 2026 under its Green Finance Framework. * ~$3 billion - construction debt financing, Rowan's largest ever * 707 acres - full campus footprint, Rowan's largest Texas project * 300 MW - available power secured through Oncor * 1,000,000 sq ft - first building now under construction * Operations expected 2027 - roughly 600 construction jobs, 40+ permanent roles Rowan builds turnkey campuses to its own sustainability standards and leases them long-term to hyperscale operators; the company says Temple will serve a top global technology company as its long-term customer, though the tenant has not been publicly named. Founded in late 2020, Rowan is backed by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and Blackstone. Like most large data center projects in fast-growing Texas towns, Temple has drawn local scrutiny - regional coverage notes resident concerns and a possible county moratorium discussion - a reminder that community engagement is now part of every campus timeline. Key players. | Role | Company | Notes | | Owner / Developer / Operator | Rowan Digital Infrastructure | Turnkey hyperscale developer; backed by Quinbrook and Blackstone | | General Contractor | HITT Contracting | National GC with a dedicated mission-critical practice | | Utility | Oncor | 300 MW power partnership | | Tenant | Undisclosed global technology company | Long-term turnkey lease | For subcontractors, the delivery model matters: turnkey developers like Rowan hand a single GC - here, HITT's mission-critical group - responsibility for trade buyout on compressed, tenant-driven schedules. Reviewed public sources name no low voltage, fiber, security, fire, or BAS package awards for Temple, which puts this campus squarely in active bid territory as the first building climbs out of the ground. Low voltage systems breakdown. | System | Scope at Project Temple | Complexity | | Fiber / Outside Plant | Carrier/OSP fiber and campus backbone across 707 acres; I-35 corridor carrier diversity | High | | Structured Cabling | 1M sq ft first building; data-hall pathways to hyperscale tenant standards | High | | Access Control | Perimeter-to-cabinet layered security for an unnamed top-tier tenant | High | | CCTV / Video Surveillance | Campus and hall coverage with tenant-grade requirements | High | | Fire Alarm / VESDA | Aspirating detection and suppression interfaces across high-density halls | High | | BMS / Controls | Sustainability-driven controls scope; power monitoring under a green finance framework | High | | Networking | Meet-me rooms and hyperscale fabric support | High | | DAS | In-building radio coverage across a 1M sq ft footprint | Medium | | Grounding & Bonding | Signal reference grids and lightning protection; commissioning and QA/testing documentation | High | Estimated low voltage value: $120M. The project record carries no pre-computed LV value, so we apply Signal's hyperscale data center benchmark of approximately 4% of construction value for low voltage and structured infrastructure scope. Against the ~$3 billion financed program, that puts the estimated LV opportunity at roughly $120 million across the campus buildout - fiber, cabling, security, fire, controls, grounding, and commissioning packages phased with the first building's 2027 operations target and later Temple phases behind it. Skills & certifications. * BICSI RCDD and DCDC - data center design credentials at bid time * BICSI INSTC/INSTF and FOA CFOT - campus-scale fiber installation and certification * NICET Fire Alarm Level II+ - VESDA/aspirating and clean-agent experience * Access control / video manufacturer certs - Genetec, Lenel, Software House, Axis * IEEE/BICSI grounding and bonding - signal reference grids and lightning protection * IEC 62443 awareness - BMS/OT cybersecurity, elevated on sustainability-instrumented campuses Market signal: the I-35 corridor is texas"s next data center lane. Dallas-Fort Worth is the #1 data center market on Earth and West Texas is absorbing gigawatt-scale AI campuses - but the I-35 corridor between Austin and Waco is where turnkey developers are now landing: Temple, Belton, San Marcos, and Maxwell all have active or announced campuses. Bell County offers what hyperscalers need - land, Oncor transmission, and municipalities that have pre-designated industrial corridors - one hour from Austin's tech labor market. For Central Texas low voltage contractors, Project Temple is the anchor opportunity in the region: a financed, under-construction, single-GC campus with no public specialty package awards and a 2027 delivery clock. Firms with data center credentials that get in front of HITT's mission-critical buyout now will be positioned for later Temple phases - Rowan has already closed multiple land deals in the market.
