About the job
- A minimum of 2 years of previous experience working with children, such as academic or athletic tutoring, camp counseling, or youth volunteering.
- Must provide constructive criticism and implement curriculum.
- Must have a high-energy, positive demeanor and a genuine passion for influencing children's lives through engaging STEM activities.
- Must demonstrate outstanding communication skills with children and their parents, including clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language in professional interactions with students, families, peers, leadership, and the larger community.
- Child abuse clearance and criminal checks are required.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Must be physically able to execute all responsibilities and respond to emergency situations that may require running and climbing stairs.
- Supervise and instruct students in STEM subjects while ensuring a safe and dynamic learning environment.
- Implement STEM lessons for students aged 4 to 14 with varying skill levels.
- Promote fundamental STEM skills to enhance students' knowledge and proficiency.
- Supervise groups of students with attention to behavior and group management, health and safety, security, and personal and skill development.
- Ensure the safety of students and team members.
- Organize and prepare daily plans in a fun and creative manner.
- Use effective classroom management skills to lead activities and create an inclusive, fun environment.
- Work effectively with fellow Activity Specialists and collaborate on daily responsibilities.
- Serve as a positive role model to students.
- Follow the Impact Kids Code of Conduct, maintain the Impact Kids look, exhibit Impact Kids Core Values, and adhere to all company policies.
- 1 to 5 years of experience teaching STEM-related subjects.
