- Collaborate with procurement, stock control, and pharmacy technicians to ensure medicine availability and supply continuity.
- Monitor and report medication incidents, near misses, and adverse drug reactions in line with hospital protocols and Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency guidance.

Circle Health Group (Circle) has expanded into laboratory operations across the UK through the acquisition of selected laboratory operations from Unilabs. The operations, which have transferred to Circle, provide pathology, histopathology, blood sciences, microbiology and specialist diagnostic services to more than 90 external healthcare clients. The move will allow Circle to integrate laboratory services more closely with its hospital network, with the group aiming to improve collaboration between clinicians and laboratory specialists while increasing operational capacity and responsiveness. Circle Health Group is part of global healthcare group PureHealth and will draw on the expertise of its laboratory subsidiary, PureLab. The company operates more than 150 laboratories and processes more than 25 million tests annually, with capabilities including automation and AI-enabled diagnostics. Paul Manning, CEO of Circle Health Group, said integrating diagnostics with its hospitals would create a more connected model of care. "Integrating diagnostics more closely with our hospitals allows us to deliver a more connected model of care," he said. "It strengthens collaboration between clinicians and laboratory specialists, improves operational responsiveness and provides a strong foundation to support our continued growth." Circle said the laboratory network would continue to prioritise its existing external healthcare clients, while also providing capacity for new customers. The group said the expansion formed part of its multi-year growth strategy, with investment planned in laboratory equipment, technology and scientific and clinical staff. Circle Health Group will assume selected UK laboratory operations from Unilabs Limited, including two dedicated hub laboratories in Euston and Cavendish Square, London, supported by a network of fully licensed laboratories across the UK. Together, the laboratories provide pathology, histopathology, blood sciences, microbiology, and specialist diagnostic services, serving an established base of more than 90 external healthcare clients. The expansion will utilise the expertise of PureLab, part of PureHealth and the UAE's largest laboratory operator, which manages a network of more than 150 laboratories across the country and processes over 25 million tests annually. PureLab is supported by advanced automation, AI-enabled diagnostics, and internationally accredited laboratory operations, providing proven clinical, operational, and technological expertise to PureHealth platforms. Futures indicate the FTSE 100 will open around 2.7 points lower at 10,753.75, after the blue-chip index closed Wednesday down 0.3% at 10,756.45. Geopolitical risk remains firmly in focus after Washington and Tehran exchanged fresh threats following some of the heaviest military action in weeks. US President Donald Trump said American forces had conducted a "very heavy attack" on Iranian targets overnight and warned that further strikes could follow. Iran, meanwhile, accused the US of striking a wedding party and warned that Washington would face a new strategy in the conflict. Despite the escalation, Brent crude eased to $94.36 a barrel in early trading from $95.40 at Wednesday's London close, although prices remain elevated amid continued disruption around the Strait of Hormuz. Wall Street provided a more positive lead overnight. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.6% on Wednesday, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite both closed 0.5% higher. Asian markets were mixed on Thursday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng both down 0.4%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.4%. The Shanghai Composite was little changed. Gold strengthened to $4,436.10 an ounce from $4,371.82 on Wednesday as investors continued to seek exposure to the traditional safe-haven asset. The Hampshire Clinic in Basingstoke will launch the new outpatient paediatric services from Monday, July 6, offering private GP and specialist care in gastroenterology, colorectal, orthopaedics and urology. The Hampshire Clinic (Image: The Hampshire Clinic) Heather Dob, executive director of The Hampshire Clinic, said: "Many private hospitals are exclusively adult focused, so by launching a dedicated paediatric service Basingstoke Gazette has a unique opportunity to widen its patient demographic and enhance the support Basingstoke Gazette provide to its local community. "We hope to provide patients and their families with access to same day appointments in a comfortable setting." Paediatric consultants have joined the hospital to support the expanded services. While the initial focus will be on outpatient care, the hospital aims to introduce inpatient and surgical services by early 2027. The private GP services will offer appointments most days of the week and include a rapid response team. Patients can access services through private medical insurance or self-funding. With demand for NHS paediatric services continuing to grow the senior management team at The Hampshire Clinic believe the launch of a dedicated children and young people's service at the hospital will provide additional support locally.
