About the Job

Requirements

  • Recognized training as MTL, MTLA, or MTA, or comparable studies in the biomedical field.
  • Several years of professional experience in a medical laboratory.
  • Ideally, initial leadership experience or a clear willingness to take on a leadership role.
  • Technical aptitude and experience with laboratory information systems (LIS).
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Reliability, organizational skills, and a sense of responsibility.
  • Good spoken and written German at a minimum of B2 level.
  • Willingness to work late, weekend, and public-holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Deputize for and support the team lead of the hospital laboratory, which has eight employees.
  • Independently process laboratory samples from end to end.
  • Organize validation, verification, and comparative measurements when introducing new equipment, methods, test procedures, and software.
  • Optimize routine operating processes.
  • Support the team lead in preparing duty rosters, standard operating procedures, test-equipment instructions, equipment documentation, work instructions, and staffing plans.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance is carried out, organize equipment training, and coordinate repairs, involving the responsible academic supervisor when necessary.
  • Ensure external and internal quality controls are performed and implement quality objectives.
  • Support employee onboarding and training.
