Requirements
  • Calibration experience and/or equivalent training with commercial and/or biomedical measurement and test equipment.
  • The ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Customer service orientation and the ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the internet, with familiarity with basic database functionality.
  • At least 3 years of driving experience, a valid driver's license, and an acceptable driving history.
  • An associate degree from a college or technical school, or 2-5 years of related field experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to stand for long periods, up to 8 hours per day.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver a 400-pound cart from the unloading area to the customer's designated service area.
  • The ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
  • The ability to perform work involving electrical shock risks, moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and vibration.
Responsibilities
  • Calibrate measurement and test equipment to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Determine out-of-tolerance conditions for customer measurement and test equipment and calibration standards.
  • Provide corrective action, including adjustments and minor repairs, for out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Update and maintain proper documentation of services.
  • Provide customers with information about other services and new equipment provided by Transcat.
  • Maintain calibration standards.
  • Provide feedback and updates regarding calibration practices and procedures.
  • Submit and update required paperwork for travel and administrative purposes.
  • Travel Monday through Friday to customer facilities, including weekly overnight travel, to provide calibration services.
  • Support the local Transcat laboratory when not traveling.

  • Military PMEL training.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written instructions.
  • The ability to plan and prioritize a diversified workload and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
