About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our dynamic team here at Baton. This is the first BDR hire and you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our company by generating qualified leads and prospects, significantly contributing to our top-of-funnel. As this role evolves you will play a unique part in helping to shape what the BDR role involves and how we scale the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of our company’s expansion, working closely with the Head of Growth to identify and engage potential customers.

On a day-to-day basis, you will...
Initiate outreach to small business owners, introducing them to our tech-enabled platform and illustrating how it can facilitate and enhance the process of selling their business.
Drive sales growth by calling potential customers, managing pipelines, and setting up qualified high-priority prospect meetings for the Head of Growth.
Accurately track all lead data and constantly explore ways to improve our systems.
Develop and execute targeted outreach campaigns to small business owners, utilizing a mix of digital channels, email, and phone calls to effectively convey the value proposition of Baton.
Evaluate and qualify leads by understanding small business owner’s specific needs and goals, ensuring a customized and tailored approach to each engagement.
Work closely with the sales, marketing, and product teams to align outreach strategies with broader business objectives, providing valuable insights into the evolving needs of our customers in the small business space.
About You
You have 1+ years of sales/business development experience and are excited to build a business from the ground up.
You have familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other sales tools.
You have a proven ability to work towards and achieve targets.
You have a genuine enthusiasm for supporting small business owners in their journey, with a passion for understanding the challenges and aspirations they face when selling their businesses.
You have a hard-working mentality and are fearless in going above and beyond what is expected to hit targets. This role requires grit and lots of it!
You have strong communication skills that can translate technical features into tangible benefits, resonating with small business owners who may not have extensive tech backgrounds.
You can actively listen and understand the unique circumstances of each small business owner, fostering trust and demonstrating a genuine commitment to their success.
You are motivated by achieving and exceeding targets, focusing on driving measurable impact for both Baton and the small business owners we serve.
You can think strategically about the small business landscape, identifying opportunities for our platform to add significant value and positively impact the selling experience.
You happily balance the high-level and low-level work; you wear many hats and are hands-on where needed to get things done.
