Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of previous experience in commercial underwriting; Construction, Casualty, and/or Builder's Risk experience is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong sales and marketing skills, including the ability to position accounts and close deals.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Success in marketing, producer management, and new business development, with the ability to negotiate with internal and external partners.
  • Teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • A solid background in risk analysis and experience with construction and/or casualty underwriting.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies.
  • Adaptability and creativity in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and negotiate price, coverage, terms, and conditions for new business and renewals.
  • Identify target accounts that fit Shepherd’s underwriting appetite.

The partnership allows builders using Brickeye's loss-prevention technology to receive better insurance terms, premium credits or lower deductibles. Brickeye monitors construction sites across 4,500 projects in over 20 countries, preventing water damage and concrete quality issues through IoT sensors. The company has grown revenue 150% year-over-year and helped clients reduce water loss deductibles by up to 50%.
