About the job
- DAII training or equivalent.
- Preferred 2-5 years of dental assistant experience.
- Achieved CDA certification, completed a radiological equivalency exam through the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners, or completed a CODA-accredited dental assisting program.
- CPR certified, or willing to become CPR certified within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to professionally present clinical information regarding treatment plans and insurance information to patients.
- Ability to demonstrate independent thinking and exercise good judgment, including the ability to formulate, affect, interpret, and/or implement operating practices.
- Must perform frequent repetitive work with attention to detail.
- Ability to be flexible and accept different work assignments within the practice, including traveling to other locations.
- Ability to follow instructions and take responsibility for one's own actions.
- Ability to exercise confidentiality with patients and patient care.
- Ability to listen attentively for clarification to ensure necessary outcomes.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and written correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Assist the dentist in providing dental treatment.
- Function as a treatment coordinator and prepare and present treatment plans to patients.
- Schedule patient appointments to accommodate potential obstacles.
- Maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Collect and record patient health histories.
- Assist with patient management during dental procedures.
- Complete instrument cleaning and sterilization and post-operative sanitization of treatment rooms.
- Prepare dental materials and equipment as needed for scheduled treatment.
- Complete dental charting.
- Maintain inventory supplies and perform other ancillary duties.
- Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon software.
- Regular and timely attendance.
- Ability to demonstrate a teamwork approach to job responsibilities.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, dependability, and promptness.
