Requirements
  • Experience working within a certified Quality Management System, specifically IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001.
  • Experience in an automotive or similar manufacturing environment is required.
  • Working knowledge of automotive core tools, including Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control, and Measurement Systems Analysis.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methods, including 8D, PPS, Kaizen, and A3.
  • Internal and/or external audit experience against standards such as IATF 16949 or ISO 9001.
  • Supplier and/or customer quality experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Strong information technology skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical mindset with good data interpretation capability.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by identifying hazards and supporting resolution of safety concerns.
  • Participate in site safety activities, including risk assessments, to ensure safe working practices.
  • Maintain and improve Quality Management System documentation, including procedures, work instructions, Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analyses, and control plans, to reflect changing requirements.
  • Support compliance with IATF 16949 standards and Customer Specific Requirements to ensure continued adherence.
  • Conduct internal audits from initial planning through closeout in line with the audit schedule.
  • Lead and support structured problem-solving activities, including 8D, PPS, Kaizen, and A3, and deliver reports in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to Corrective and Preventive Action activities, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monitor and analyze key quality metrics, including PPM, customer complaints, cost of poor quality, and yield loss, and drive improvements.
  • Manage non-conforming material from containment and investigation through final disposition.
  • Lead and support development and maintenance of core quality tools, including Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control, and Measurement Systems Analysis.
  • Support relevant Advanced Product Quality Planning activities and ensure timely, compliant Production Part Approval Process submissions.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve performance.
  • Support customer audits, visits, and external assessments.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, customers, and suppliers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience in an automotive or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to Minitab, SAP, or similar systems.
  • A degree, Higher National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Lean or Six Sigma training or experience.
  • Knowledge of VDA.

Alkegen to eliminate $3.1B debt and secure $315M new capital through prepackaged Chapter 11 restructuring

Alkegen, a specialty materials manufacturer, has entered into a Restructuring Support Agreement to eliminate approximately $3.1 billion of debt. The agreement has backing from 99% of first lien holders and a majority of second lien holders. The company has secured $315 million in new capital to support operations during restructuring. Upon completion, Alkegen expects to emerge with a stronger balance sheet and approximately $200 million in available liquidity. The restructuring will be implemented through a prepackaged chapter 11 process, expected to be filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. Operations will continue as usual with no anticipated disruption for customers, suppliers, or partners. Alkegen plans approximately $70 million in capital improvements for 2026, with an additional $300 million anticipated through 2030.
