  • 3+ years of experience in related fields.
  • Strong passion for controls engineering and a desire to build a career in this field.
  • Solid understanding of basic electrical and control system principles.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and software used in controls engineering, such as ladder logic (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME, TIA Portal, WinCC), AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: nomenclature of all assigned equipment, solid state circuitry, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems, interface units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers and inspection and digital devices.
  • Ability to take high level direction and turn it into executable tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Requires working with or near energized 480 VAC circuits.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities
  • Learn and develop proficiency in multiple programming software used in controls engineering, including but not limited to PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), HMI (Human-Machine Interface) development, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and industrial networking protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of control system designs, modifications and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, accounting, supply chain, automation engineering and IT to gather requirements and implement control system solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards during the installation and operation of control systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in control system technologies and propose innovative ideas for continuous improvement within the controls engineering department.
