"Diversifying financing strengthens long-term investment in infrastructure, building more resilient supply chains and supporting Brazil's global trade." The annual awards recognize standout project and infrastructure finance transactions across Latin America and the Caribbean. Winners are selected independently by LatinFinance's editorial team following a review of transactions across the region and market feedback, with criteria including innovation, timing, foresight, execution quality and impact. DP World received the award for its first debenture issuance, which provided the company with long-term financing through Brazil's domestic capital markets. Fabio Siccherino, CEO of DP World in Brazil, said: "This recognition reflects the strength of DP World and our long-term commitment to Brazil. DP World launches 'Transforming Trade' video series showcasing the people behind Peru's trade growth. CALLAO, Peru, October 1, 2026 /3BL/ - DP World today launched Transforming Trade: Peru, a new video series highlighting how stronger trade connections are creating opportunities for people, businesses and communities across Peru. Over the past two decades, Peru has emerged as an increasingly important player in global trade, connecting products including blueberries, avocados, minerals and seafood with consumers around the world. DP World has supported that growth through continued investment in ports, logistics and technology, helping strengthen the infrastructure that connects Peruvian producers with international markets. But the impact of trade extends beyond the movement of cargo. Transforming Trade: Peru puts the focus on the people behind that transformation, telling the stories of Peruvians whose livelihoods, businesses and communities are evolving alongside the country's growing role in international commerce. "Trade is ultimately about people - the entrepreneurs building businesses, the workers creating safer and more efficient supply chains, and the communities creating new opportunities for the next generation," said Carlos Merino, CEO of DP World in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. "Transforming Trade: Peru tells that story through the people experiencing this transformation firsthand and shows what stronger connections to global markets can mean beyond the port." THREE STORIES OF TRANSFORMATION The series introduces three people from Callao whose experiences illustrate different dimensions of trade's impact. Maritza Rodriguez, a local entrepreneur, began selling homemade causas from a cart before participating in DP World's Emprende program in 2022. The program, run by DP World volunteers, helps local entrepreneurs develop their business skills and has supported more than 228 people, 80% of them women. Today, Rodriguez operates her own restaurant, Maricausa, providing employment for members of her family and building greater financial security through her business. Alfredo Zegarra Ochoa, Operations Supervisor at DP World Callao, has witnessed the transformation of the port over 17 years with the company. His story explores how investment in technology, training and international standards has accompanied a broader change in workplace culture, with safety at the center of terminal operations. Tomás Chipa, an artisanal fisher who has spent 35 years fishing the waters around Callao, shares how DP World's Pescadores Mar de Oportunidades program helped him and other local fishers obtain the documentation needed to formalize their work. The program has assisted 90 fishers with the licensing process while also providing guidance intended to support responsible fishing practices and long-term livelihoods. Together, their stories demonstrate how the benefits of stronger trade connections can extend into communities - supporting entrepreneurship, improving working environments and helping preserve livelihoods for future generations. CONNECTING PERU'S POTENTIAL TO THE WORLD The series launches as DP World marks 20 years of operations at the Port of Callao. Since beginning operations in 2006, DP World has invested approximately US$1 billion in infrastructure, equipment and technology at Callao. In 2024, the company completed a US$400 million expansion, including the Bicentennial Pier, increasing the terminal's annual capacity to 2.7 million TEUs. In 2025, Callao became the first terminal on South America's west coast to handle more than two million containers in a single year. That investment is helping goods move more efficiently and giving Peruvian exporters greater access to international markets. The expansion of Callao has reduced vessel waiting times by 1.6 days while increasing terminal capacity by 80%. In 2024, the terminal handled 80% of Peru's blueberry exports, while during the 2025 season it moved US$438.3 million in avocado exports, representing 60% of the country's total avocado shipments. DP World is also investing in the transition toward lower-emission trade. Electrification of rubber-tired gantry cranes and yard operations at Callao has contributed to a 22% reduction in the terminal's carbon footprint, with DP World targeting a 90% reduction in emissions by 2030. Through Transforming Trade: Peru, DP World is bringing those numbers to life by showing how investment in trade infrastructure can translate into tangible changes for the people and communities connected to it.

DP World unveils ambitious $7 billion investment for Nigeria's Gateway Deep Water Port. October 1, 2026 DenizHaber DP World partners with Ogun State to invest over $7 billion in a deep-water port and economic zone, creating 50,000 jobs. DP World and Nigeria's Ogun State have signed agreements for the development of a deep-water port and a special economic zone. The project, which initially foresees an investment exceeding $7 billion, is planned to commence construction in November. Global port and logistics operator DP World has reached an agreement for the development of the Gateway Deep Water Port and Ogun Blue Marine Special Economic Zone in Ogun State, Nigeria. According to a statement from the Nigerian Presidency, the agreements were signed on September 24, 2026, in Paris, France. The ceremony was attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun, and DP World Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan. The agreements initially foresee an investment of over $7 billion. With the full development of the projects, it is expected that more than 50,000 direct jobs will be created. A four-kilometer quay is planned. The Gateway Deep Water Port, which is planned to be established at Ogun Waterside, is designed to have a four-kilometer long quay and the capacity to accommodate vessels with a draft of 18 meters. The port aims to serve larger vessels and reduce congestion in the Lagos port corridor. It is particularly intended to alleviate pressure on the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports, thereby reducing delays in import and export operations and lowering logistics costs. The port will integrate with a manufacturing and export zone. The port is planned to be developed alongside the approximately 10,000-hectare Blue Marine Special Economic Zone. Factories, warehouses, processing facilities, and export-oriented businesses are expected to be located in the area. Within this structure, the aim is to convert imported inputs into final products, while Nigeria's raw materials will be processed and sent to foreign markets. The project aims to expand the country's non-oil export capacity. Construction is expected to begin in November. Following the agreement, Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun announced that the groundbreaking ceremony will be held in November and that construction work will commence immediately. Abiodun stated that the port is expected to be largely completed within approximately two and a half years. The governor noted that the deep-water port project, which has not been realized for over thirty years, is part of the state's efforts to attract investment and accelerate economic development. Support for road and rail connections. The Nigerian federal government has announced that it will support the development of road, rail, and electricity connections for the implementation of the projects. The 28-kilometer section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road in Ogun State is expected to serve as an important connection for the transportation of the port and economic zone. This section is planned to be completed by the end of the year. President Tinubu emphasized that clarity in regulations and policy stability will be provided to investors, stating that the signed agreements should translate into investment, employment, and production.
DP World's Santos expansion advances with new quay cranes. New ship-to-shore cranes have arrived at DP World's terminal at Brazil's Port of Santos as the operator pushes ahead with its major capacity expansion. The cranes were brought into the terminal aboard the heavylift vessel Zhen Hua. Their passage through the port required a temporary shutdown of the transmission line from the Itatinga hydroelectric plant because of the height of the cargo. The Santos Port Authority said the manoeuvre was completed without incident and power transmission was restored immediately afterwards. The equipment is part of DP World's wider R$1.6bn ($308m) investment programme at Santos, which is designed to lift annual container capacity to 2.1m teu by 2028. Across its expansion programme, DP World plans to add four quay cranes, 15 rubber-tyred gantry cranes and 40 internal transfer vehicles, alongside additional berth, yard, gate, inspection and reefer infrastructure.
