Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Strong healthcare domain experience and experience with healthcare applications, processes, or data.
- Strong requirements-gathering and documentation skills, including creating business and functional requirements documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.
- Strong SQL and data-analysis skills.
- Experience with user acceptance testing and the software development life cycle.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with Jira and/or Azure DevOps.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulations such as HIPAA.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and requirements workshops.
- Translate business needs into business and functional requirements documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Identify gaps between current-state and future-state processes.
- Work closely with Product Owners, subject-matter experts, developers, quality assurance teams, and architects.
- Perform data analysis using SQL; validate healthcare data and identify data-quality issues.
- Create reports and dashboards using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau; analyze trends and provide insights to business stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Create and maintain user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Work with development and quality assurance teams throughout the software development life cycle.
- Support user acceptance testing planning, test scenarios, defect clarification, and business validation.
- Track requirements through implementation and release.
- Create as-is and to-be process flows.
- Identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and system gaps.
- Develop functional specifications and solution documentation.
- Analyze system integrations, application programming interfaces, data flows, and upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Support data mapping and validation activities.
- Analyze healthcare business processes and workflows involving patient/member information, claims and billing, provider management, eligibility and enrollment, healthcare benefits, and clinical and administrative workflows.
- Support requirements involving healthcare integrations and data exchange.
- Collaborate with clinical, payer, provider, and healthcare operations stakeholders as applicable.
