About the role
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and personable Office Administrator / Kaufmann/Kauffrau für Büromanagement to join our team in Langenfeld. This is a varied role at the heart of our German operation, providing administrative and coordination support across areas including office operations, sales, purchasing, finance and HR. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Germany and the UK, as well as customers and suppliers, helping to keep day-to-day business activities running smoothly and efficiently.
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have:
At least two years' experience in office administration, commercial administration or a similar business support role.
A completed vocational qualification such as Kaufmann/Kauffrau für Büromanagement, Industriekaufmann/Industriekauffrau, or equivalent relevant experience.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience processing invoices, purchase orders, expenses or similar business documentation.
German at native speaker or C1 level, alongside a high level of business English.
A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.
It would be great if you also have
Experience with SAP Business One or another ERP system.
Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering or an industrial environment.
Experience supporting sales, purchasing, finance or HR activities.
Knowledge of quality, Health & Safety or compliance administration.
Experience working within an SME or international organisation.
Why this is a good opportunityThis is a particularly varied position for someone who enjoys being at the centre of a business and working across different functions. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of a broad range of activities and help improve the systems, processes and ways of working that support the continued development of our German operation. My recommendation: use this rather than putting all 12 responsibility sections from the role profile into the advert. It retains the important requirements but should feel considerably more accessible to a candidate. Main changes: I’ve condensed the internal accountabilities into candidate-friendly themes, brought the cross-functional nature of the job forward, and kept the genuine essentials such as two years' experience, SAP exposure, qualification and German/English requirements.
