This cybersecurity growth stock has increased by 40% in 2026, yet remains a great value compared to CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks.

This cybersecurity growth stock has increased by 40% in 2026, yet remains a great value compared to CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks. Table of Contents Key highlights. * Artificial intelligence is empowering hackers to execute intricate attacks with remarkable rapidity. * Tenable identifies vulnerabilities within corporate networks prior to their exploitation. * The stock trades at a significantly lower valuation than competitors, presenting a potential for notable growth. Tenable (NASDAQ: TENB) operates in the cybersecurity sphere, focusing on exposure management - a proactive strategy that uncovers weaknesses in corporate networks before they become susceptible to exploitation. As hackers increasingly leverage artificial intelligence (AI) for risk assessment, the demand for effective exposure management solutions has surged. This year, Tenable's stock has escalated by over 40%. Yet, its market capitalization remains at a modest $3.6 billion, contrasting sharply with cybersecurity behemoths like CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks, which boast a combined market valuation exceeding $450 billion. The evolution of exposure management. Tenable is renowned for Nessus, the industry's leading tool in cybersecurity that accurately identifies vulnerabilities. This tool incessantly examines devices, operating systems, and networks for weaknesses, facilitating timely remediation. Nevertheless, Nessus is merely an entry point to Tenable's expanding suite of more sophisticated offerings. The company has developed a robust exposure management platform termed Tenable One, tailored to meet an extensive array of enterprise requirements. This platform is driven by an AI engine known as Hexa AI, which comprehensively understands interactions among various corporate assets, enabling it to detect vulnerabilities proactively. Furthermore, it autonomously conducts scans to maintain optimal security postures, coordinating specialized AI agents to implement necessary fixes. A particularly innovative feature is AI Exposure, designed to safeguard companies using AI software. This tool persistently analyzes AI application utilization and data vulnerability, swiftly identifying risks. It is adept at recognizing avant-garde threats such as prompt injection, wherein hackers exploit internal AI systems to obtain confidential information. In the second quarter, Tenable One constituted 50% of the company's new sales, indicating that clients are transitioning from individual products to a comprehensive platform solution. Stable revenue progression, yet rising profit margins. In the second quarter, Tenable generated $268.5 million in revenue, surpassing management's projections of $263 million to $266 million. This reflects a modest growth rate of 8.6% year-over-year, a trend influenced by the company's prudent cost management aimed at enhancing profitability. Total operating expenses for Tenable were $195.8 million during the second quarter, a reduction from $200.3 million in the preceding year. A series of targeted cost reductions, including in growth-oriented sectors such as marketing, enabled the company to report a net profit of $3.8 million - an impressive turnaround from a net loss of $14.7 million during the same quarter last year. On a non-GAAP basis, which excludes extraordinary and non-cash items, Tenable's profits surged by 40% to $57.9 million. As the company gradually enhances its profitability, it may gain the capacity to invest more robustly in marketing initiatives, potentially catalyzing a resurgence in revenue growth. An attractive proposition in the cybersecurity market. The price-to-sales (P/S) valuation method measures a company's market cap relative to its revenue over the past 12 months. Presently, Tenable's P/S ratio is a mere 3.7, significantly lower than its average of 7.1 since its public inception in 2018. In contrast, Tenable appears substantially more affordable than Palo Alto and CrowdStrike, which boast P/S ratios of 22.9 and 38.1, respectively. CRWD PS Ratio data provided by YCharts. CrowdStrike's annual recurring revenue expanded by 24% to $5.5 billion in its latest quarter. Given that CrowdStrike generates more revenue and maintains a higher growth rate than Tenable, a higher valuation is warranted; however, it appears excessive to expect a tenfold premium. While it is unlikely Tenable will achieve a P/S ratio comparable to CrowdStrike's, the current valuation suggests substantial upside potential. To align its P/S ratio with its historical average of 7.1, Tenable's stock would need to appreciate by 92%, presenting an appealing medium-term target for investors. This stock harbors the potential for significant long-term growth, especially as AI continues to increasingly shape security paradigms for enterprises globally. Is now the time to invest in Tenable? Prior to making an investment in Tenable, consider the following: The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team has identified the 10 best stocks currently recommended for investors, and Tenable is notably absent from this list. The stocks selected have tremendous potential for lucrative returns in the years ahead. Reflect on the historical performance of Netflix, which was recommended on December 17, 2004; a $1,000 investment at that time would have burgeoned to $386,727 today. Similarly, Nvidia, recommended on April 15, 2005, would have transformed a $1,000 investment into $1,232,139! It is pertinent to note that Stock Advisor boasts a comprehensive average return of 906% - a resounding outperformance compared to the S&P 500's 208%.

Tenable launches industry's first open-source AI agent exchange to advance collective cyber innovation and defense.

Tenable launches industry's first open-source AI agent exchange to advance collective cyber innovation and defense. The CyberAgents Exchange, powered by Tenable, introduces a vendor-agnostic community for security practitioners to discover, share and build trusted AI components Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence LAS VEGAS, Aug. 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Black Hat USA Booth #2639 - Tenable(R) Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TENB), the exposure management company, today launched the CyberAgents Exchange, a new open-source AI exchange created to foster industry collaboration and improve collective cyber defense. The CyberAgents Exchange, powered by Tenable, is the only purpose-built, cybersecurity-native registry for AI agents, skills, MCP servers and multi-agent playbooks in the current market. Security teams are increasingly turning to AI to scale security operations and manage risk overload, but end up building AI agents in isolation, repeatedly reinventing the wheel. Existing AI exchanges are either general-purpose or vendor-gated, forcing security teams to wade through irrelevant use cases, waste time on duplicate design and build efforts, or accept restrictive vendor lock-in. To improve the cybersecurity industry's collective defense and outpace AI-generated threats, defenders need a unified, cyber-specific hub to accelerate development and share collective agentic tooling. The CyberAgents Exchange eliminates these development silos and empowers industry collaboration with a truly open, free-to-use exchange. Built for trust and transparency, the Exchange provides code-level visibility into who built each AI component, when it was created and its peer-supported status. This transparency enables members to deploy AI components tailored to their specific organizational needs confidently. Additionally, the Exchange is a career asset for practitioners to build verifiable expertise in an emerging discipline and develop a catalog of peer-supported AI components. "The CyberAgents Exchange fills a major and pressing industry need, especially as cybersecurity remains a growing issue and AI-enabled attacks rise," said Seth Fogie, Director of Security for Baptist Memorial Health Care. "Its core philosophy of working together is what made the threat intelligence community so invaluable. My team has benefited greatly from the Exchange, and we look forward to contributing and collaborating with the wider community." Underscoring the industry's commitment to collaborative, open-source AI defense, industry leaders SentinelOne and Recorded Future have joined the initiative as founding members of the CyberAgents Exchange. By contributing their deep expertise in autonomous security operations and threat intelligence, these industry pioneers will help anchor the Exchange as a truly unified, vendor-agnostic ecosystem. As founding members, both organizations will actively contribute secure AI agents, integration frameworks and playbooks to accelerate the community's defense capabilities against rapidly evolving AI-driven threats. Computer Security In conjunction with the launch, Tenable is hosting "SWARM: The Cybersecurity Agentic AI Build Event," a hands-on, multi-day event at Black Hat USA 2026 sponsored by AWS and presented with support from Anthropic. At the event, security practitioners will build open-source security agents, skill files or MCP servers. Winners will be announced on Thursday, August 6, 2026. More than 50 AI components, released under open-source licenses, are available, including: * Navi (Agent): A command-line tool that leverages the Tenable One Vulnerability Management APIs to automate common vulnerability management and cyber exposure workflows. * SentinelOne Purple AI (MCP Server): Allows users to access SentinelOne services with any MCP client. * Recorded Future MITRE APT Attack Path Analysis (Skill): Pulls an organization's Recorded Future threat map, maps an APT group's MITRE ATT&CK techniques and cross-references against live Tenable findings to identify which attack path nodes are actively exploitable. * SOC-Hunter (Skill): Leveraged daily by Tenable's internal security operations team, SOC-Hunter provides proactive, hypothesis-driven threat hunting using the LOCK pattern across SIEM, EDR, VM, CSPM, CASB and code search. * The Hounds Pack (Playbook): A skill-packaged playbook for The Hounds - 18 exposure-management specialists that hunt, tag and calibrate risk. "Security is a team sport. We've addressed a gaping hole in the ecosystem of AI Agents, built for defenders, by defenders. With the CyberAgents Exchange, we're creating a collaborative 'town square' where cybersecurity practitioners can build, test, improve and share the best in agentic defense," said Vlad Korsunsky, Chief Technology Officer, Tenable. "With our deep roots in the open source community and our global ecosystem of customers and partners, Tenable is uniquely positioned to steward this collaborative effort to help scale security teams' capabilities and outpace evolving threats." Discover more organizational Business Formation Dictionaries & Encyclopedias "To truly scale defenses against autonomous, AI-driven threats, the security community must move past isolated development and vendor-locked silos," said Braden Preston, vice president of product management, SentinelOne."As a founding member of the CyberAgents Exchange, SentinelOne is proud to champion a transparent, open-source foundation for agentic security. By sharing trusted, autonomous components and collaborative playbooks, we are empowering security teams globally to innovate faster, defend smarter and outpace modern adversaries together." Charity & Philanthropy "Joining the CyberAgents Exchange as a founding member lets us bring world-class threat intelligence directly into the open-source frameworks security teams are building today," said Jamie Zajac, Chief Product Officer at Recorded Future. "But the promise of AI agents in security depends entirely on whether they can be trusted. Intelligence doesn't just make agents smarter. It makes them traceable, auditable and repeatable. That's the foundation the community needs to build autonomous defense that's not only fast, but reliable."
