Requirements
  • A preferred four-year business degree with a concentration in finance and/or accounting.
  • Preferred experience of 5-7 years in credit analysis and underwriting.
  • Preferred experience as a lender or relationship manager.
  • Proficient knowledge of credit policy and loan documentation issues.
  • Knowledge of various loan structures and the ability to apply this knowledge in formulating sound credit recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and efficiently.
  • Ability to understand and work effectively within the company’s credit culture.
  • Ability to allocate time effectively and prioritize work to meet timelines.
  • Experience spreading financial statements using Moody’s or Baker Hill.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background and credit check.
Responsibilities
  • Work with corporate banking relationship managers to manage all aspects of the loan portfolio, including annual reviews, past dues, borrowing base monitoring, covenant compliance, credit approval requests, collateral exceptions, and other portfolio management activities.
  • Participate in and assist with all aspects of the loan process, including joint calling, underwriting, and preparation of credit approval packages.
  • Serve as the secondary contact for client relationships.
  • Review loan documents.
  • Spread, analyze, and interpret businesses and financial statements.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of individual requests and recommend actions to address and mitigate perceived risks.
  • Prepare and present credit analysis packages through the credit approval chain with limited supervision.
  • Make calls on companies, sponsors, and investment bankers with senior bankers.
  • Serve as the initial deal screen to determine loan viability by researching companies and industries, preparing credit analysis packages, making preliminary recommendations, and interacting with senior executives on the senior credit committee.
  • Communicate with corporate borrowers to obtain pertinent information for recommendations.
  • Address compliance issues with management and customers and evaluate and recommend changes to covenants, pricing, and credit agreement terms.
  • Participate in required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money-laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars or conferences.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed.
