Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree and 8 years of experience.
  • An active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance and willingness to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence Polygraph.
  • Department of Defense Manual 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical Level II certification.
  • Working technical competency with Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware, ESXi, Xen hypervisors, scripting, BMC Footprints, WSUS, Lumension, BitLocker, SQL Server 2012, Microsoft IIS, Windows Server 2012 R2 and 2016, Windows 10, Red Hat 6.5, and Microsoft Office.
  • Hands-on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies and concepts.
  • Experience with SAN, NAS, and iSCSI storage implementations.
  • Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments.
  • Experience tuning and optimizing storage and backup environments.
  • Experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies.
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale systems across multiple hardware platforms and data centers.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply advanced engineering and design methods, theories, and research techniques to investigate and solve complex system requirements, hardware/software interfaces, applications, and solutions.
  • Operate and sustain VMware infrastructure, including updating, testing, and deploying vSphere and vCenter product releases and reporting issues found during installation, testing, and deployment.
  • Manage and administer physical and virtual Windows and Linux servers.
  • Support and manage server virtualization, server provisioning, physical server maintenance, security compliance, and daily operations.
  • Manage VMware vSphere with emphasis on automation, and administer, install, and maintain enterprise storage and backup systems.
  • Maintain the server lifecycle, including hardware provisioning, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Maintain the virtualized server environment through configuration, implementation, management, and support activities.
  • Monitor virtual server infrastructure health, service performance, and utilization.
  • Implement and maintain compliance with information security policies and technical standards, including reporting and remediating non-compliance.
  • Maintain security baseline compliance through configuration, implementation, and remediation activities.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain the integrity of, and configure network components, and implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems, including corporate system transitions and migrations.
  • Administer desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks, including account monitoring, security, operating system installation, and local area system administration.
  • Install and provide operational support for voice and data communications hardware and software systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot storage systems and related technologies.
  • Oversee installation of new storage hardware and software according to standard operating procedures.
  • Configure operating systems and security patches for host and distributed systems, and implement incident response procedures during network or host security breaches.
  • Review customer requirements and recommend changes to existing technical architecture.
  • Comply with customer, industry, and agency standards.
  • Provide day-to-day IT systems operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server, storage, network, and mobile devices.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise data center systems consisting of physical and virtual servers, storage, backups, monitoring, and automation.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
