Vitrafy Life Sciences forges key partnership with Versiti Blood Health for platelet cryopreservation.

Vitrafy Life Sciences forges key partnership with Versiti Blood Health for platelet cryopreservation. Vitrafy Life Sciences Limited (ASX: VFY) has announced a significant partnership with Versiti Blood Health, Inc., a U.S. non-profit blood network. The collaboration is set to advance the development of Vitrafy's cryopreservation ecosystem specifically for platelets. Vitrafy Life Sciences has developed a proprietary cryopreservation ecosystem, including the Guardion cryopreservation freezing unit and LifeChain(TM), a cloud-based software platform, designed to support the collection, cryopreservation, storage and delivery of sensitive biological materials. This partnership follows a successful Phase II in-vitro platelet study conducted by the United States Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR), which demonstrated a 94.4% mean post-thaw platelet recovery using Vitrafy's 3% DMSO no-wash protocol. While the use of Vitrafy's ecosystem for cryopreserved platelets remains in development, subject to U.S. regulatory requirements, the Versiti alliance represents Vitrafy's third U.S. civilian blood partnership, and its first focused specifically on platelets, complementing existing red blood cell collaborations with Vitalant and Hoxworth Blood Center. Under the agreement, both Vitrafy and Versiti will contribute resources to integrate Vitrafy's no-wash platelet cryopreservation ecosystem into Versiti's existing platelet workflows. Additionally, blood products provided through the partnership will support verification and validation activities necessary for Vitrafy's cryopreservation freezer to obtain U.S. medical device listing for currently approved cryopreserved blood products, such as plasma, with a target completion in FY2027. Vitrafy will initially place two cryopreservation freezing units at Versiti's Blood Research Institute in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, without charge, and fund certain verification and validation services. Managing Director and CEO, Brent Owens, stated that the Versiti partnership represents the third major civilian blood network to directly engage Vitrafy following the USAISR platelet studies, and the first dedicated to platelets. Mr Owens highlighted Vitrafy's objective to help supply hospitals with high-quality cryopreserved platelets, addressing the current seven-day shelf life constraint and easing shortages reported by hospitals.

August 20, 2026 Community Unity Blood Drive: A First for Arabic-Speaking Donors Versiti, the Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeya (I.M.A.M.), and Who is Hussain Michigan are working together to help Arabic-speaking community members feel more informed, comfortable, and welcome when donating blood. At the Community Unity Blood Drive on Sunday, Aug. 23, Arabic-language translation support will be available to help donors understand and navigate the donation process. The drive will be the first to offer full translation support as part of a pilot effort in the Dearborn community. Its partnership also includes a Muslim Community Cultural Awareness Guide developed by I.M.A.M. to help Versiti team members better understand Islamic beliefs, cultural practices, and communication considerations. The goal is simple: to ensure all donors are met with respect, understanding, and clear information throughout their experience. This work grew from listening to community members and identifying the practical barriers that can make blood donation harder to navigate. Imam Us hope this collaboration can offer a model for what is possible when community organizations and blood centers listen to one another, build understanding across cultures, and work together in service of others. By creating a more welcoming donation experience, Imam Us can help more people take part in the shared mission of providing blood for patients who need it. Behavioral Diagnostics and Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions announce partnership to bring objective smoking and alcohol exposure screening to clinical trials.

Behavioral Diagnostics and Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions announce partnership to bring objective smoking and alcohol exposure screening to clinical trials. Its screenings. Have questions? Contact Us Form MILWAUKEE and CORALVILLE, Iowa (July 14, 2026) - Behavioral Diagnostics and Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions today announced a new partnership that will allow Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions to offer Behavioral Diagnostics' novel cancer risk, smoking and alcohol exposure screening assays as part of its clinical trial support services. The collaboration expands Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions' ability to help sponsors identify and monitor behavioral factors that can affect trial safety, participant retention, adherence and data interpretation. Objective assessment of smoking and alcohol exposure may help reduce protocol deviations, improve cohort selection and strengthen interpretation of study endpoints. Behavioral Diagnostics' assays use DNA methylation-based biomarkers to provide an objective, biology-based measure of risk for lung cancer, smoking intensity and heavy alcohol exposure, helping reduce reliance on self-reported information. "Clinical trials depend on clean, interpretable data," said Doug Rains, Chief Scientific Officer, Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions. "By adding Behavioral Diagnostics' screening technology to our clinical trial support capabilities, we can help sponsors better understand participant risk factors that may influence safety, adherence and study outcomes." Behavioral Diagnostics' smoking-related assay evaluates methylation at cg05575921, a biomarker associated with smoking exposure. In a study recently published in Lung Cancer, researchers reported that adding cg05575921 methylation levels to existing clinical and smoking-history variables in subjects from the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal and Ovarian (PLCO) Cancer Screening Trial improved prediction of lung cancer occurrence in people who currently or previously smoked compared with existing gold-standard methods. In addition, the Smoke Signature CA lung cancer test provides a "hemoglobin A1c-like" assessment of smoking intensity that can be used in Precision Medicine smoking cessation therapies. The findings were especially notable among participants with less than 20 pack-year smoking histories, although the authors noted that additional validation in an external screening population is needed. The alcohol assay provides an Alcohol T Score, an objective measure associated with heavy alcohol consumption. In clinical trials, unreported or unmonitored alcohol use can introduce safety and data quality challenges, including potential drug-alcohol interactions, participant attrition, missed visits, medication nonadherence and variability that may affect efficacy and safety signals. Through the partnership, Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions may use the assays to support sponsors with: * Participant screening and eligibility decisions * Baseline risk assessment * Stratification and covariate adjustment * Longitudinal monitoring of behavioral exposure * Support for cleaner, more interpretable clinical trial datasets "Self-report has long been a limitation in assessing behavioral exposure," said Robert Philibert, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Officer and Founder, Behavioral Diagnostics. "Our assays are designed to give sponsors objective biological information that can support more informed trial design, monitoring and interpretation." The partnership reflects Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions' commitment to offering specialized laboratory and biomarker support that helps sponsors strengthen clinical trial execution while maintaining scientific and regulatory rigor.
