SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, has acquired a majority stake in Prescient Security, a US-based provider of information compliance and cybersecurity services. Prescient Security employs over 350 people and serves 5,000 customers worldwide, offering expertise in information security certification, penetration testing and compliance workflows across sectors including finance, healthcare and technology. The acquisition forms part of SGS's Digital Trust strategy, with the company targeting at least CHF 200 million in additional Digital Trust revenue by 2027 compared with 2023. Prescient Security supports major international standards including SOC2, ISO, PCI DSS and FedRAMP. SGS CEO Géraldine Picaud described the deal as a key milestone in expanding the company's Digital Trust platform and service portfolio.

The company specializes in information security, cybersecurity and compliance with regulatory requirements in the digital sector. Its customers include companies from the financial, healthcare, retail, technology and defense sectors. According to the information, the offering includes certifications in accordance with international security standards as well as so-called penetration tests, which are used to specifically check IT systems for vulnerabilities. Prescient Security also has its own technologies for automating compliance and security processes. With the acquisition, SGS is further expanding its strategic business segment "Digital Trust". The group, headquartered in Baar, aims to generate at least 200 million Swiss francs in additional revenue in this area by 2027 compared with 2023.
SGS SA launched a EUR 650 million senior bond offering on 22 September 2026. The bonds have a six-year maturity, due in 2032, and carry a 4.125% coupon. The bonds will be issued by SGS Finance BV and guaranteed by SGS SA. Proceeds are intended for general corporate purposes, including refinancing existing debt. Earlier in September, SGS received an EcoVadis Gold Medal, improving from its previous Silver rating. The company is scheduled to release its third-quarter 2026 sales update on 23 October 2026.

The company added new facilities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Waltrop, Germany; and Bentonville, Arkansas, joining existing accredited sites in Taiwan and China. The expansion provides bicycle and e-mobility manufacturers with testing and compliance services closer to their operations across Asia, Europe and North America. The move addresses growing demand for flexible compliance solutions as supply chains diversify and regulatory requirements evolve. Joe Chen, Global Head of Hardlines at SGS, said the network helps customers access reliable compliance solutions whilst maintaining consistent quality standards across regions.
SGS has acquired a majority stake in NetSentries, a cybersecurity and digital assurance specialist. The acquisition expands SGS's Digital Trust portfolio and aims to support customers with cybersecurity, data protection, AI governance and operational resilience challenges. NetSentries provides offensive security, independent security assurance, AI and emerging technology security, cyber-resilience and post-quantum cryptography readiness services. The company serves banks, financial institutions and regulated enterprises across the Middle East and India. NetSentries will continue operating under its existing brand. Co-founders Sudheer Elayadath and Arun Thomas will continue leading the business as part of SGS.
