You’ll be part of a highly skilled team that is responsible for developing and supporting BV’s design system. The design system is a collection of React frontend components that are semantic, accessible, and utilized by BV teams to build a standardized user experience for our client dashboard.We are interested in engineers who are hands-on and willing to dig into tough problems. We love people who are willing to explore new areas, learn quickly, and apply their skills to challenging issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver improvements to our React design system by working closely with product owners, designers, and QA to meet both the needs of our clients and internal development teams.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Design, code and review changes - applying an end-to-end quality mindset to ensure the highest degree of accessibility and composability.
- Engage, collaborate and mentor engineers both on and off the team.
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
- 3 or more years experience with TypeScript, a framework like React/Angular/Vue/Svelte, semantic HTML, and CSS
- Good understanding of semver and the box model
- Experience with Figma and/or Storybook would be nice to have
- A drive and ability to succeed and push others to success
- Strong experience mentoring others on a quality mindset and approach
- Ability to collaborate with others
- Desire to grow and take ownership of work
- Aren’t afraid to take on less glamorous work if it helps the team accomplish their mission
- Experience with Agile or Kanban / Lean software development methodologies
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with CSS preprocessors (like Sass or LESS)
- Experience with Figma and/or Storybook would be nice to have
- Experience in creating scalable design systems
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins or Github Actions
- Testing libraries and runners like Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright
