Requirements
  • A proven record of honesty and integrity in all relationships.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical components, electronics, electromechanical, mechanical, physics, optics, and thermal principles as they apply to metrology.
  • Experience with maintenance data collection systems, supply, transportation, and electronic mail as they apply to the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance if required.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Either a minimum of ten years of relevant experience working in a calibration facility with quality assurance experience, or two years of electronics college or university study with a minimum of six years of relevant calibration-facility experience with quality assurance experience.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Normal color vision.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening.
  • Secret Clearance.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening.
Responsibilities
  • Perform quality reviews, process reviews, annual reviews, and measurement-area discipline reviews.
  • Perform, review, or assist with proficiency tests and measurement-area program testing as needed.
  • Perform internal audits as directed.
  • Participate in trend analysis and management reviews as directed.
  • Perform evaluator proficiency evaluations.
  • Calibrate test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment as needed.
  • Train technicians as needed and provide effective leadership while coordinating quality-program efforts with a highly skilled workforce.
  • Monitor the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory Quality Assurance Program and related processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure continuous process improvements are implemented.
  • Apply quality assurance methods to identify trends and coordinate effective corrective actions with management.
  • Monitor, track, and report quality data; perform statistical modeling to identify corrective actions; review and develop quality metrics; and use specialized data-gathering techniques as needed.
  • Work independently and with others to identify, evaluate, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Update the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory Quality Assurance Plan to incorporate improved processes, technologies, and concepts.
  • Generate and track Quality Deficiency Reports, including investigating reported deficiencies.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervision as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience with the NAVAIR METCAL Program, Navy quality systems, and ISO quality systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 practices and requirements.
  • Extensive computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets.
  • A minimum of ten years of quality experience in a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory or other Department of Defense or commercial activity.
