Why you should join our Decision Engine team:
The Decision Engine team is where business meets technology. As the Decision Engine Senior Manager, you will own the production quality of our core underwriting engine directly impacting billions of dollars of exposure. You will guard our underwriting performance through enablement of effective pricing and automatic decision rules. You will be leading the high performing Decision Engine team, collaborating with cross functional teams to push insights to production at a record speed. You will report directly to our VP of Risk, Emma Ye, and collaborate with talented colleagues across Pricing, Risk Analytics, and Modeling. Additionally, you will engage with teams from R&D, Tech Product, Insurance Product, Claims, Cyber Research, and Underwriting.

Role overview:
In this role, you will manage the main rule engine of the company by using DMN (Decision Model and Notation). DMN is a modeling language for the precise specification of business decisions and business rules. This position involves leading the development, implementation, and optimization of any decision rule processes within At-Bay. This role requires collaboration with various teams to identify and translate business needs into practical DMN actions. The role involves overseeing a team of developers responsible for managing At-Bay’s main engine. The role necessitates adept project management skills, particularly in handling projects involving numerous business and technical teams from product and R&D
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is enthusiastic about engaging with both the technical and business aspects of the decision engine.
- Has a background in the financial industry and proficiency in SQL, with experience in Python being a plus.
- Understands the broader context and aligns team efforts with the company’s business goals.
- Develops and implements a clear vision and strategy for the decision engine, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation in processes.

- You have established yourself as a coach for your team, and they look to you for guidance
- You will establish a functional interface with the technology team in Israel and serve as a knowledge resource for them regarding DMN
- You have continuously identified process improvement and automation efforts and established a stronger internal control environment
- You will collaborate on creating a roadmap plan with the product and R&D teams, outlining their areas of focus
- You will cultivate the capability to incorporate DMN into fresh domains that could potentially generate additional revenue lines for the company
Pay transparency paragraph: Our estimated base pay range for this role is $185,000-$210,000 per year. Base salary is determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to market data, location, internal equitability, domain knowledge, experiences and skills.
