Requirements
  • Minimum one year as a maintenance technician or other applicable experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Skill in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, equipment repair, and painting.
  • EPA Section 608 Technician Certification, Type II or Universal Certification, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stay organized, follow up, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact in English with associates, residents, and external agencies.
  • Ability to read English sufficiently to understand policies, procedures, safety notices, business correspondence, and documentation.
  • Basic computer keyboarding and navigation skills.
  • Provide a basic tool set.
  • Possess and maintain timely and reliable transportation.
  • When on-call, be ready, available, fit for work, and able to report to the property within 30 minutes of receiving a call.
Responsibilities
  • Complete resident service requests accurately, promptly, and to a high standard.
  • Perform routine, preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance repairs and general upkeep throughout the community and on equipment; maintain logs and records.
  • Provide customer service and communicate with residents, associates, management, and guests to address concerns.
  • Participate in apartment turnovers by repairing, renovating, painting, and cleaning vacant apartments.
  • Keep community areas, grounds, and dumpster areas safe, tidy, and free of trash, debris, and animal waste; prepare dumpsters for trash pickup.
  • Monitor the community and grounds and advise management of areas needing attention.
  • Maintain landscaping, including watering flowers, and perform snow removal as needed.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and training to maintenance apprentices and porters.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to emergencies promptly and appropriately.
  • Attend required in-service training sessions.
  • Support other communities as assigned by management.

Taking On Bilt, Stake Aims To Expand Its Cash-Back Rewards Program For Renters

Aiming to compete with Bilt in the nascent property renter rewards market, Stake, a startup that provides cash back and banking services to renters, today announced that it raised $12 million in a Series A round led by RET Ventures’ new RET Ventures ESG Fund. Enterprise Community Partners, Hometeam Ventures, Operator Stack, Shadow Ventures, Olive Tree Ventures and Second Century Ventures, the investment arm of the National Association of Realtors, also participated, bringing Stake’s total raised to $17.9 million. Co-founder and CEO Rowland Hobbs says the new capital will be put toward expanding the platform and increasing Stake’s workforce from 17 employees to 23 by the end of the year
