Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program is required.
  • Current ARRT certification is required.
  • A current New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license is required.
  • Certification to administer contrast media is required.
  • At least one year of diagnostic radiology experience is required.
  • A current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical CT imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Produce high-quality CT images and evaluate them for technical accuracy and diagnostic quality.
  • Identify patients correctly and label all imaging studies accurately.
  • Use clinical judgment to select and modify imaging protocols as appropriate.
  • Administer contrast media according to established policies and document medication administration accurately.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Comply with hospital policies, departmental procedures, and applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission requirements.
  • Ensure proper operation of CT equipment and perform routine quality control.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide patient care.
Desired Qualifications
  • CT experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of computerized axial tomography (CT) principles, equipment, and procedures is preferred.
