Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
  • Licensure or certification as required by state guidelines.
  • CPR certification.
  • New graduates are considered.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift over 100 pounds with assistance according to resident abilities.
  • Must be able to sit and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to travel by car or plane as necessary to reach assigned destinations within a reasonable time frame.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed for patient-care activities.
  • Must meet the facility's general health requirements, including a physical examination.
Responsibilities
  • Provide, direct, and supervise quality patient care, including screening, evaluation, treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education, and documentation.
  • Ensure patient care follows organizational guidelines, professional standards, community needs, and federal and state requirements.
  • Serve as a patient and rehabilitation advocate for current and prospective patients and internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate across disciplines to provide consistent patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and customer service activities.
  • Direct and supervise assistants, rehabilitation aides, and students in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Follow organizational and facility safety procedures for personal protection and patient safety.
  • Develop treatment plans and provide treatment consistent with benefit and reimbursement levels to achieve the best functional outcome.
  • Complete evaluations, daily progress notes, summaries, and monthly reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the Physical Therapy code of ethics and California physical therapy practice requirements.
  • Educate staff, healthcare professionals, and third-party payers about intervention benefits and functional outcomes.
  • Participate in care-plan meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and family training to communicate patient status during therapy.
  • Attend continuing-education seminars and workshops to maintain current clinical skills, programs, and techniques.
  • Provide in-service training and educational presentations to the company, team, or facility.
  • Maintain required state licensure, certification, and credentialing.
  • Submit billing, payroll, and expense documentation in a timely manner.
  • Make appropriate referrals to other members of the rehabilitation team.
  • Follow all safety rules and use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Perform other duties assigned or required by supervisors or upper management.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Physical Therapy.
  • One year of Physical Therapy experience.
  • One to two years of experience in a residential, assisted-living, or skilled-nursing facility.
