Requirements
  • An associate degree or equivalent in Automotive Technology is required.
  • At least three years of automotive experience or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of four Automotive Service Excellence certifications is required.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, is required.
  • Proficiency in mathematical principles and their application, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages, is required.
  • Ability to operate manual-transmission vehicles, determine causes of operating errors, and decide appropriate corrective actions is required.
  • Ability to coordinate activities with other employees is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information in English is required.
  • A valid California driver's license and an acceptable, safe driving record are required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of frequent bending, stretching, twisting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing is required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, noisy environments, and small or enclosed spaces is required.
  • Ability to adjust, move, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Ability to work in different positions and confined spaces, remain stationary for prolonged periods, and operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment is required.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately according to dealership and factory standards.
  • Complete vehicle repairs ranging from oil changes to vehicle engine rebuilds.
  • Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform needed repairs.
  • Repair vehicles according to estimates and manufacturer standards.
  • Road-test vehicles to quality-check completed work.
  • Examine vehicles to determine whether additional safety or service work is required.
  • Communicate with Service Advisors when additional work is needed, listed work is unnecessary, or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Complete all work according to applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
  • Document all work performed and findings on repair orders and inspection sheets.
  • Achieve production objectives set by management.
  • Provide administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other assigned tasks.
  • Communicate with the Parts Department regarding parts status.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper repair.
  • Maintain an organized and clean assigned workspace.
  • Maintain grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards.
  • Perform administrative functions directed by service management.
  • Maintain high ethical standards in all actions.
  • Report at the assigned time to provide the expected level of service.
