Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required; pursuit of relevant advanced degrees, relevant internships, or other relevant experiences may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years of project management experience, is required.
  • Experience managing hardware or software programs within the aerospace industry or similar work in a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and staggered deliverables is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail are required.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including comfort with ambiguity and concepts without firm technical requirements, are required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the proposal development process from kickoff through submission for proposals to NASA, the Department of War, and other government and commercial customers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional proposal teams, including engineers and subject-matter experts, technical proposal writers, graphic designers, and others, by assigning roles, tracking deliverables, and holding regular check-in meetings.
  • Develop and manage proposal project schedules and ensure that all milestones are met through final proposal submission.
  • Develop statements of work, schedules, budgets, and risk registers for proposals.
  • Help write project-management-related proposal sections, including schedule narratives, pricing justifications, risk and mitigation plans, project management plans, supply chain management plans, and facilities descriptions.
  • Engage with and manage deliverables from external partners and vendors supporting proposals.
  • Engage with proposal customers by communicating with the contracting officer, attending industry days virtually or in person, submitting questions and answers, and monitoring solicitation websites and portals.
  • Identify, track, and ensure compliance with all proposal requirements.
  • Plan and run internal proposal color reviews.
  • Help maintain proposal templates, content libraries, and submitted proposal archives.
